If you could Hypothetically code one program that could do anything what would it be? I'll go first.
> Ability to Destroy or make matter.
A program that programs anything a client wants.
There, I killed off most programing work.
>ability so create a gf
Time control is the obvious choice.
What's your excuse now? Linux is kill.
http://www.wired.com/2015/04/microsoft-open-source-windows-definitely-possible/
>>47344250
Open Source, perhaps, at vague possible future time, but free? I doubt it. Linux is alive and well, thank you very much.
>>47344250
Awesome, now exploits can come out twice as fast.
Microsoft won't be killing anything, unless they made windows FOSS.
Open source =/= Free Software
What do you guys think? Would open source Windows be a good thing?
>link: http://www.pcgamer.com/microsoft-says-open-source-windows-is-definitely-possible/
This would be the finally nail in the coffin for linux
>>47342888
Not really I'm sure Micro$oft would turn to a form of datamining (which theyre) to make money
>>47342888
lucky for linux this is a misleading as fuck headline.
Which is better? Which has more power? More features? Ease of use? Aesthetics? Autism?
PowerVR now that the driver's source code and documentation has leaked.
I buy my graphics cards based on their looks, not based on their performance.

Post your configs, favorite plugins, and other Vim-related things.
I just started using spf13-vim and it's absolutely awesome (if a bit slow). Anyone else use it?
>>47329032
using it now.
the code completion is sometimes a bother when you're scrolling through code. otherwise, i like it. i don't even care if it makes me a pleb. at least i'm using vim.
>>47329060
Do you notice any lag when using it? Things like NERDTree take a second to load (whereas when I loaded it by itself that didn't happen).
>>47329076
nah it runs pretty smooth for me.

Haven't been reading news but citation for /g/ getting involved?
What browser does /g/ use? I've been sticking with Chrome recently, it feels smooth and modern, but hogs the CPU.
>>47343385
Just plain ol' firefox with some minimal addons.
>>47343385
Firefox. Works well. Stable as fuck.
>>47343385
Chromium (the source project for Chrome) with extensions Adblock, Vimium, and Ghostery
>adblock and ghostery are botnets
So what? They make browsing faster because I don't have to wait for ads to load or tracking shit.
>vimium
I code in vim a lot so being able to browse with the keyboard with a lot of familiar shortcuts is nice. Firefox has an extension like it called vimperator I believe. I still use FF for Java and Flash...

why are there so many fucking Indians in tech education?
I had to deal with this shit in engineering school. Now I'm working in process control at a tire factory and taking an online class on their data historian
Fucking more Indians.
Does no one realize or care how much harder this makes learning something? Everything just sounds like someone saying Cucumber over and over again.
And why are Indians in tech like this? The Indians I knew in my business classes were great. They spoke wonderful clear English. Engineering Indians? Cucumber...

You're probably being paid to be understood too. You're not doing a very good job of that, cucumber, cucumber cucumber.

Data hoarders, how much storage space do you have, and how much are you currently using?
I have ~8TB of storage between 6 devices, which at present is home to ~3.5 TB of data. I hope to eventually replace my current unorganized jumble with an array of 4 4Tb drives.
>>47343161
Meant to say: All of the drives in my setup are nearly full; I have a lot of duplicate data between drives.
>8TB
>hoarder
My drobo 5n has 8.79/11.76TB used.
Main rig has two 6TB hdds in raid1
