absolutely disgusting room layout
Lecturer at my uni just went full freetard
has anyone else experienced this?
Seems like a good guy.
All of my good professors always exported to pdf, yes.
Seems good, you do not want professors giving slides or documents in anything that is not PDF.
Lets get this going!
do you call that monstrosity sexy?

I would like to start this thread with

I am 23 and work construction and i am looking to get into network security and penetration testing.
My question is what would be a good laptop to run something like BackBox or Kali Linux on as far as wireless support and general best bang for your buck.Would also like to point out i am not looking to duel boot this will be a dedicated practice laptop. Many thanks for your help in advance.

You dont need a specific laptop. Most can run stuff fine. Also dont get blackbox or kali theyre bloated just get debian.
most computers over 2 years old with conventional wifi cards should be fine in terms of drivers.

thank you for the help.
Plan to just hit the ground running at this point.
My general knowledge is scattered from just picking things up over the years.

at 23 I assume you have the attention span for it.
https://news.ycombinator.com/ Interesting stuff gets posted here
Just learn to code and learn networking and you'll be good, just learn stuff and don't just use a ton of 7 year old scripts packaged with metasploit or black box
Can anyone explain what makes quantum computers so much more powerful?
I have been trying to read up on them but all I can find is articles saying "they can be 1 and 0 at the same time when doing a computation"
i don't see how someone can think that sentence explains to a reader why a quantum computer is so many times faster than a traditional computer
what am i missing?
>>47459813
A brain. Wikipedia covers this.
>>47459813
It's not faster for all problems, it's only faster for certain problems (BPQ).
If your problem is (for example) search, then the ability to simultaneously search everywhere at once if going to be faster than searching one thing at a time.
Superposition and entanglement.
I fucked up. Long story short, I pulled cpu cooler off of my motherboard, but the processor held on to it. What I want to do is have the processor and heatsink back on the board, but the heatsink is preventing me from having a good enough view to line up the pins correctly. What do I do, /g/? I tried pulling the processor off the cooler, its on too tight, and I tried using floss as well to no avail. I apologize for the terrible pic and if this issue belongs somewhere else.

what the fuck kind of shit thermal paste have you been using anon
2 birds 1 stone. Nice.
Pretty much just heat it up a tiny bit and slide it off instead of prying.
Then redo the thermal compound.
If it's thermal adhesive though your fucked have to use chemicals and they generally will melt the processor.
Also it looks like a vishera FX series.
What happenned to us?
Have we been consumed by marketing, phones, and battlestations?
Has ironic shit posting gone too far and ruined any motivation to do anything?
What happenned to /cpg/ let alone /g/ as a whole?

How neat. I've been wanting to do something similar with the Common Lisp pretty printing system for a while.
I should really start on that.
Who knew Racket had a manifesto?
http://www.ccs.neu.edu/home/matthias/manifesto/
> The creation of a programming language calls for guiding principles that point the developers to goals. This article spells out the three basic principles behind the 20-year development of Racket.
> First, programming is about stating and solving problems, and this activity normally takes place in a context with its own language of discourse; good programmers ought to formulate this language as a programming language. Hence,...

Let's get more women involved in plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and as mechanics.
Those are male dominated fields too, why is it always computer shit?
Corporate conspiracy to create a glut of programmers so wages will fall.
