Really pleased with my X220, and I just ordered a T420 with a broken screen, since I have an M14X to gut for a replacement

X220 is my daily driver, T520 is the family laptop, and the T43 I just got yesterday is my side laptop. The T43 doesn't have an HDD and my SATA II ultrabay caddy is still in the mail.
Why the fuck did IBM and Lenovo put one RAM slot under the fucking keyboard and one on the underside on so many of their laptops? It was a royal pain in the ass to upgrade my T43's...

I'm thinking of doing the CCNA cert this summer.
What are some good practice exam books?
Also, when do I know I'm ready to take the exam? I feel pretty confident with my lab and theory, but I've never taken an IT cert exam before, so I'm not really sure if what I know will be enough.
bump
I might be dating myself, but I used the ExamCram books umpteen years ago when I passed the CCNA.
Everyone's different, but for me it was a week or two of reading, tops, followed by breezing through the exam in 20 minutes. I wouldn't be so worried about passing.

Thanks.
What are best "cheap" phones out right that have a good custom ROM selection?
Moto E is nice, but cost $150. Any thing ~$100 with LTE and lollipop?
Not interested in used or mediatek phones.

You won't get a phone like that for such a cheap price. Why are you so picky about the mediatec? What's wrong with it? Mediatec will be just fine for all tasks. I hope you have a better argument against mediatec than

Why do people obsess over getting faster hardware rather than refining software to do crazy shit like this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w54uNAuqE1Y
Do you spend much time on optimization? Do you know much about optimization? Can we talk about it? It interests me. Have you done anything like in the video, even if it was small? Some cool workaround you found on your own?
>optimizing software
Ahahhahaha just add more cores and ram
Signed, Android development team
The problem is that "optimization" is a thing of the past, especially for video games and the like. The only solution is to buy faster and faster hardware.

>The problem is that "optimization" is a thing of the past
Why? Because compilers are better at optimization than humans now?

There's a dual core ARM11, ARM9 and ARM7. The ARM9 and 7 also include the GBA/DS hardware in them.
3DS mode use ARM11 for OS and apps and ARM9 for security and I/O. DS(i) mode use ARM9 and 7 for games and ARM11 for some other misc. stuff. Same with GBA but the ARM9 isn't used.

So is Ninty's OS BSD-like? it's listed as in-house on wikipedia. I can't imagine that they developed a full kernel all on their own.

Everything from scratch. From the look of the FS it's nothing-like.
Sony's is however.

4 years.... do you think Steven is proud of what Apple has become today?
>>47658029
Steve only cares about the money, he never gave a shit about about his customers. I wouldn't be surprised if he thought they were the biggest idiots ever. why else did he re-release the same phone every year, only it was slightly shiner and had a few new apps.
>>47658301
not true. do more research
1. You can get malware on a Linux system.
2. You do need* to reboot your computer after some updates (not including the kernel), as processes that are already loaded in memory will actually still be the older version until they are cleared from memory, which sometimes requires a reboot.
*you don't actually NEED to, but you will still be stuck with the older version in memory until a reboot
3. Most modern Linux distros won't work if you swap hard drives into different computers.

This is false.

Cox Communications. Not that I have a choice where I live, but 130mbps for ~60 isn't bad.

What audio interfaces do all you musicians use? I'm planning on getting a UR22 soon, but I'm sure there are better products out there for the price
>>47662791
Not that important until you have a really great microphone, just go by features and ports.
>>47662791
I own the UR-22, it's alright I guess, only use it for speakers, headphones and my midi keyboard. It does the job, but every few months it refuses to work and I'll have to fuck around with the usb cables until it magically works again, could be windows though (most likely).
i have a scarlett 8i6.

Quick question :
Mplayer said that my system is too slow. Does mpv improvements will fix that, or it will be worse ?
When will mpc-hc be forked to linux?
