When will they stop this big phone trend?
>>51257620
When touchscreens stop existing.
when will they stop this le paper thin phone meme and give me a phone with more than 10 minutes of battery life
>>51257643
aka never
While I find this concept entertaining I think the implementation is rather lackluster.
But let's talk about it.
First thing to say: if you're looking to build a cheap PC don't do what these guys do. You don't have a time limit, and you can use bits and pieces of technology you already use. And most important of all: you can use ebay.
I'd prefer a more typical reality TV style judges panel with points for particular aspects of the build
The ol' Iron Chef

Iron Chef has a limited amount of time and resources plus you HAD to use whatever they said so. If the chefs didn't bring it with them or it wasn't on the "free stuff" table, it was out of the picture.
That would be fascinating: you must use ___ in your build. You can not use things not on the approved list.
Chances are we'd all end up with something pretty similar to the Falcon List, though.
>>51257485
I mean, considering limited budget I think LTT does a pretty good job with the show.
I would love to see a budget video editing pc build.
Austin's GPU for his build in the recent episode is a Radeon HD 6990.
Now, there is no denying this GPU is powerful. And for $180 he got a good deal. This card will do well in benchmarks.
However, in "real world" performance this card is known to be extremely hot and loud, and games will suffer from stuttering framerates due to the Dual GPU setup. So...there are compromises. Not saying I still wouldn't go with it, but a build that uses this card is not the sleekest build. On ebay you will find many cards for the same price with near the...

Is it possible for a hard disk to fly out of the computer and kill me? I know it would be very small but is there any chance at all?
yea. my computer case has 3 cases of bullet proof glass surrounding it.

/g/, I need a new music player.
Been using a Clip+ with rockbox for years, but it got all crashy and now I can't boot to rockbox or sansa firmware (they freeze during startup). As such I can't connect to the device in any way. I really loved the thing, and I just can't justify buying a new one as it's $50 for something so outdated.
I'd like something with the same sort of open functionality, preferably something rockbox compatible. FLAC/MP3 is all that matters, mic and radio unimportant. No hard drives, solid state only please.
What...

Solitary bump
Tried fucking everything.
-holding left during rockbox boot
-holding select during sansa boot
-plug to start sansa, unplug during logo screen
Rockbox freezes during v3.10 splash
Sansa freezes during "flower" logo splash
Currently trying to run down the battery, but its hard as it shuts down after ~5 minutes of idling on splashscreen.
Can't connect it to my computer, can't abort normal boot. All this together effectively softlocks it. A goddamn shame.
Get a used iPod 5.5G and install the latest version of rockbox on it. Mines a tank, and holds 80gb

What is the best deal on a LG V10?

What spare PC parts do you have lying around, /g/?
>>51257167
Some older 775 based core2 machines
The only modern and potentially useful parts I have are a few decent power supplies.
I sell everything else when I upgrade
all of my old motherboard, ram, psu etc which became my server. pc master race, see you at your garage sale consolefags.
Outside of that the only thing I don't sell is a few PSUs, most common part I deal with for helping others for money that breaks and is almost totally universal, they're all sub 300w units from other dead pcs. And a shit ton of internal cables like sata and a few fans.
>>51257167
damn, willing to sell any of it?
Why is it taking so long for Google to release a Linux client for Google Drive? MEGA is much newer and the maintainers have a tiny fraction of the budget Google has, yet they already have an official Linux client out while a $300 billion multinational corporation can't be bothered to do it themselves.

Why would they? Linux users are mostly the ones who care about privacy. They wouldn't use it even if Google made some shitty APP

Anyone know anything about rOtring pencils? My 800 got jammed and subsequently stopped feeding lead, so looking to see if there's a better one out there.

How is this a thing? How is brand loyalty for THESE a thing? It's a fucking computer part, it's not like a car, or a vidya console, where there's subjective positives and negatives. It's not like there's exclusive games or something, one will just be better than the other by being the top-end piece.
Am I missing something here? Is there some sort of loyalty bonus with GPUs I've never heard of? How is this something people fight over?
>>51256996
There ARE subjective positives and negatives moron.
As long as there are opposites there'd be those people who are for those opposites, for different reasons. It shouldn't bother you, people form opinions on things they prefer, it's a personal preference.
Why do people buy Macs?
They enjoy eating shit from their own hands

Would you recommend Manjaro as a babby distro?
>>51256976
yes
No, not at all.
Antergos does a better job at being an easier Arch. In fact, Manjaro offers absolutely nothing.
>>51257050
This
Just use Antergos if you need Arch for Babbies. You can also use Architect Linux if you need a 100% vanilla version of Arch with a text based gui.

What would you do with a 128GB Micro SD chip anyway /g/?
I would personally back up my most favorite animu shows on one.
I'd honestly wouldn't know what to do with one if I got one really. I already have an uhs 32GB microsd and it still has 10gb free.
Give it to my mom
