So why're you still using a kernel whose main developer says he doesn't give a shit about security, /g/?

Other business laptops are also welcome in /tpg/ (e.g. Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook).
Don't buy anything OTHER THAN T, X AND W SERIES if you want the Real ThinkPad Experience™
If you're looking for purchase advice, READ THE BUYERS GUIDE FIRST. Then post, stating budget and requirements (e.g. size and performance).

Why ThinkPad? (also applies to other business laptops)
>They’re really cheap when you buy a used one.
>Keyboards feel excellent while typing (yes, even the newer ones).
>Great durability thanks to the inclusion of rollcages and use of glass fiber reinforced plastic for the chassis. The keyboard is splash proof and spilled liquids will drain out.
>Utilitarian design - e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models.
>Docking solutions that easily turns your laptop into a desktop.
>Easy to repair, upgrade and maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for almost every model. Spare parts are easy and cheap to obtain.
>The best trackpoint (that red thing on the middle of the keyboard). Great for those who type a lot or hate swiping their fingers all over a touchpad.
>Excellent GNU/Linux & *BSD support.

Germanfag here, currently with an x200s WXGA+.
I can buy a T420s with 80gb mSata-SSD, 4GB Ram, new fan and the Full-HD display + adapter (not installed) in very good condition (except for the battery) for 450€, should I do it?
Where can I get the T420s-adapter at the moment? I missed the groupbuy in the german thinkpadforum and it seems I cant get the adapter otherwise :/
Hello friendos, I've been recently getting into the idea of getting an x tablet series, but I'm currently a bit confused.
People are cheering on for the x230T for the valuable specs and battery time, and the x201T for the old keyboard, the great aspect ratio and so on, but I've gotten nothing but regret from people who had invested in the x220T, what's exactly wrong with it compared to the two?
>he doesn't have a Macbook
just updated to kernel 4 on xubuntu trusty via the wily lts enablement stack. feels so good. who else on kernel 4? share you screenfetches.

Who else misses the bright and colorful motherboards we used to have?
Computers were just more fun back then.
They're still there below all the red and black gaming garbage.
All right /g/. Let's do this again.
What was Apple thinking in putting this out if they are targeting the power user? iPad Pro doesn't run OS X and it makes the iPad Pro incapable of drawing the full productivity suite against SP4.
Why is it that Microsoft doesn't include LTE and GPS modem with SP4 when this is a very common usage scenario? Moreover, why is it that there's no power cover to extend endurance of the SP4?
Is Apple really capable of topping the Intel Iris graphics in 3D? Most won't have much illusion about hardcore gaming...

>Why is it that Microsoft doesn't include LTE and GPS modem with SP4 when this is a very common usage scenario?
Because you can just plug one into the USB port.
Also considering the fact that the vast majority of people own a 3/4G phone that is able to create a hotspot it's almost redundant.
That means Microsoft is throwing its arms up over the convergence in mobility in a way. Their own Windows Phone is a distant third place as it is right now. Apple can reliably do this with iPad given their iPhone offerings, but they still retain LTE modem as a potential option for its users.
Just ordered mine. My first day-one buy ever. How about the rest of you fa/g/s?

I work for GoDaddy. Ask me anything.
Why after $0.99 for the first year did my domain increase in price by more than 20 times when it came time to renew? When I decided not to, why did the price go up another 10 times, and require a paid auction account? In other words, how is what your company does legal?
Why does godaddy alienate more than half their potential customer base with such crappy advertising? The amateur advertisements by local companies is better both in quality and content.
Why does godaddy suck so hard?
