Intended for users of all levels, including absolute beginners
If you are serious about switching to Linux, use it exclusively for 2 weeks, avoid windows dual booting for that period of time, or you are likely to start retreating back to windows instead of getting used to linux as your new home and working on making it feel comfortable
You can safely experience installation process and the basic usage through a virtual machine

But I've been on BTN for over a year now. I started before /ptg/ existed because I'm not a retard who needed /g/ to tell me the proper way to torrent.
Intended for users of all levels, including absolute beginners.
There are three ways to try Linux, you can:
1) Install a Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
2) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full Linux experience".
3) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with GNU/Linux (not recommended)
If you are serious about switching to Linux and if you have Windows dual-booted (recommended for pure newbies),
we recommend you use it exclusively for 2 weeks,...

Stupid Questions Thread
Post your dumbass questions here.
I use foobar2000,
Before this FUCKING DUMB BITCH dumped me,
she deleted random ass music from my collection,
She knows I have bad OCD and it IS really fucking with me,
I copied foobar and it should have the list of songs, How do I compare that list to the one I will currently have?
>30,000~ songs
So I have a Thecus 2310 NAS, two 4TB WD greens in JBOD.
When I transfer files between my laptop and it over wifi I get speeds of around 30mbps, pretty decent since my router only does 65mbps max so i know the transfer speed is sufficient. However When I try to stream stuff on smplayer it stutters every few minutes, even streaming a 300mb episode of something. Adjusting the cache size doesn't seem to help what gives?
Why is this guy basically the /sqt/ mascot?

Can Steam be riced on Linux, with skins or otherwise? bip
>What is IPFS?
It's basically BitTorrent on steroids.
>why would one use it
* Distributed, decentralized filesharing (for now - ipfs is merely the communication protocol, and additional applications can exist on top of it).
* You can have a mutable address (i.e. always points to the latest version of a site), or a static address (points to a specific file). Yes, you can host sites over IPFS.
* Peers are found fast for new downloads. You don't need to wait that much to start a download.
* You can watch your animu while it downloads, I watched few episodes that way and it didn't even buffer.
>how to upload a single file
$ ipfs add ./$file
Access it at localhost:8080/ipfs/$outputted-hash
>how to upload a dir
$ ipfs add -r ./$dir
Access it at localhost:8080/ipfs/$last-outputted-hash
>how to make the thing mutable
$ ipfs name publish ./$file-or-dir-hash
Access it at localhost:8080/ipns/$output-hash-aka-peerid (it's ipNs not ipFs)
To update, publish another hash and it will be available at the same IPNS address.

From what I heard the one pieces scratch your caseback; unless there's a softer material than the braided nylons I was browsing on cheapestnato.
How much approximatly would a service of an old Raketa cost in a first world country? Because my friend payed like 15 euros for his and I'm wondering if it's something close to that or what, because what I've read hear is that on more modern watches the service goes from like 100€ at least and I'm afraid to get my watch serviced if it's going to cost more than 50€
