explain to me how wind power is safe again
>>51367254

Is not
>>51367254
Nothing is 100% safe. Just safer. I imagine far fewer people die working on windmills than die in coal mines or on oil rigs.
>>51367361
It's real. Turbine in Holland caught fire while maintenance was being performed. The two men on top died.

It's basically BitTorrent on steroids.
>why would one use it
* Distributed, decentralized filesharing (for now - ipfs is merely the communication protocol, and additional applications can exist on top of it).
* You can have a mutable address (i.e. always points to the latest version of a site), or a static address (points to a specific file). Yes, you can host sites over IPFS.
* Peers are found fast for new downloads. You don't need to wait that much to start a download.
* You can watch your animu while it downloads, I watched few episodes that way and it didn't even buffer.
>how to upload a single file
$ ipfs add ./$file
Access it at localhost:8080/ipfs/$outputted-hash
>how to upload a dir
$ ipfs add -r ./$dir
Access it at localhost:8080/ipfs/$last-outputted-hash
>how to make the thing mutable
$ ipfs name publish ./$file-or-dir-hash
Access it at localhost:8080/ipns/$output-hash-aka-peerid (it's ipNs not ipFs)
To update, publish another hash and it will be available at the same IPNS address.

General computer building thread.
I'm getting tired of my notebooks shit and decided to build the niggerest rig I could, and I managed to bring the costs down to 182$, but this is the first time I build anything so I come to you for pointers (inb4 0x1000,0x2000). Any more details you need just ask.
What I'll be doing with this computer basically:
- Web development with LAMP, MEAN stacks, low level programming with assembly and C, basic utility scripts
- Watching 1080p movies off jewtube (local turkish tv station uploads their shit there weekly)

turkish lel, looking into your build to see how you could reduce price / add superior components, for now i can say that the i5 4960K might be an overkill since you got the radeon 29 380 on deck, you get an instant 30 sterling off by switching to 15-4460, ram and motherboard is good, what kind of gaming you do and how much space you need? you could be better off with a 60gb SSD
