What's a good laptop for graphic design / photo shop?
thanks Bros..
None, all of them are shit. Get an i5/i7 desktop with 8GB of RAM instead.

are the i7s in laptops different?
Facebook is shit.
Everyone hates it, but can't leave, no good alternative.
I am going to remake the classic MySpace circa 2006.
Simple clean layout, HTML and CSS support. 4chan style ad banners, nothing intrusive, no data mining.
Only 12 photos allowed, so choose your best ones, this ain't a hosting site.
No wall, no like button, people will comment again. The bulletin system will be revamped to a public chat system with all your friends irc style.
Would you join?
Probably not. I use facebook just to share shit and ig to post pictures of my sweet bod. MySpace died because Facebook was better and Facebook died because people stopped liking the idea of Facebook. I'm hoping for a new MSN. I miss that shit.
>>51415367
probably not. All I ever do on facebook is snoop my news feed for a few minutes maybe once a day to see what old friends who moved away are doing.
>>51415367
Sure, you may think those are good choices.
But normies want real-time chatting, giant fucking albums, famous meme-posting faggots to follow, and all sorts of other corporate shit.
Bringing back Top 8 Friends would be chill tho.
I'm looking to buy some speakers, as my 12 year old ones are dying. I've heard good things about pic related, but I want to know what you guys would recommend.
I want good sound quality, but not ridiculous audiophile crap. for reference, I use m-50x headphones from Audio Technica.
>>51415330
You hear good thing about Logitech speakers even though they are big piles of shit
Why not just buy cheap receiver and find some bookshelves on sell? Probably sound much better.
Just get the jbl lsr305 if you don't want to spend much.
https://github.com/Microsoft/vscode/tree/master/src
since visual studio code is fully open source now, we can all agree that it is the best editor to date?
>>51415264
corporate baby tit. use GNU/Linux.
im digging it, been using it for a few months
>not as bloated as you would expect
>adding syntax is super easy, supports everything you should need
>doesn't have vim keybindings, but has a fair amount of conveniences to learn
>built in git functions
bretty good
>>51415328
But I already am, anon.
Anyone had this shit before
A customer came in with this shit, it installed itself onto the customers server and encrypted all of his files. Worst part he's a dentist or something those files are patients of his with sensitive info. Only way to decrypt the file is to pay the attackers $500 in bitcoins, if not paid within the time frame it increases to $1000.
Apparently no tool can break this code. Transactions are via Tor. Did this motherfucker make a badass virus or what, anyone here with stories with run ins with this, why isn't this fucker caught
>>51415228
k keep me posted
its a pretty standard attack and no you are not going to get it off without paying and the guy your paying might not even have the encryption key if he is bootlegging someone elses attack only option is to pay and pray or kiss the files goodbye
He didn't have backups? He deserves it.

I have a Aspire V5-571P and I'm looking for help getting the bios password. It's one of those shitty new UEFI laptops that has a bios password from factory, and it's pissing me off. Tried several online password finder thingys but none worked so far. Already took it apart, removed the CMOS battery for 30 minutes, and put it back together - password is still there. Any other ideas for removing the BIOS password?
Give it back, habib
>>51415047
I've had it for over a year, gathering dust. noone to give it back to,or believe me, I would.
I want to join the master race and build my own PC
I have no Idea where to start though and my budget is $1000 dollary doos for a high end one I can upgrade.
Could you guys lend a peasant a hand? Only PCs I have ever bought were from Dell and they were laptops and I'm tired of being jewed

For your budget, save your $$$ and spend it on a stronger graphics card.

Happy owner of a t420.
You paid 150 for it? What where the specs?
>>51414976
>>thinkpad smells like balls
just get some activated charcoal
>>JBL LSR305 monitors
did you read the comment someone made about JBLs being cheap garbage that is shilled on /g by imbeciles that have no understanding of what good speakers sound like?
Why the thinkpad?
Why the audio interface? You didn't even seem to complain about the speakers.
Why shouldn't I?
Dust, noise.
Because it would be less effective than having a fan in your case.
>>51414907
Not sure if thats true. This fan is considerably bigger and can displace considerably more heated air
/g/ what can i do with a wicked old computer I don't have the password to? Get creative
It's a dell latitude d600 if that matters

You seem confused.
Anyways, the 960 is a solid card for 1080p, and 170 is a pretty decent deal

can someone give me the rundown for this phone?
I've seen bits and pieces of info going through the board but still don't know much about it
Hay /g/, I'm interested, can you build a computer that runs on Double A batteries?
Pic related, sparked interest.
A non-rechargable AA Battery typically has 4~ wh of power.
A typical laptop battery has around 60 wh
Assuming you wire them properly to end up with the input voltage a laptop requires, you can potentially power a laptop for a few hours with 15 AA batteries.
There is a reason they have rechargeable batteries.
>>51415052
Interesting. So around how many batteries would be needed to power this setup for 5 hours:

Full load is 300~ watts
(300 * 5) / 4 = 375 AA batteries
A good estimate for an AA batteries weight is 25 grams, 25 * 375 = 9.375 kg , or 21 pounds going off memory.
