I'm trying to get a hackintosh running via my laptop.
I'm following the instructions on tonymacs86.com and it says to download El Capitan through the app store.
Since I don't own a mac, I downloaded a VMware image and successfully booted it up.
I'm downloading the image through the App store now.
Is this the correct way of doing this for my situation or is there an easier way of doing this?

What laptop?
Hackintoshing laptops are harder and requires more trouble shooting. El captain doesn't seem to even have a full version of multibeast, I would stick with Yosemite until you see support for el captain.

the correct way of doing this is dump your asus piece of shit in the garbage and go to your closest Apple Store to buy a real Macbook

Uh gamers, right XDDDD
hi /g/,
I have decent programming experience. mostly with Java, C, PHP, JavaScript and Python. I'm also familiar with C#.
I want to get into game development - serious game development, even if the first few things I write right now are text-based or very simple just to get the basics (like animation heartbeat, best practices etc.) down.
I graduated in CS, so I am fully aware of data structures, db/db management, complexity etc.
what would be the best way for someone in my position to get into game development? what would be the best language...

From advice given to me, Unity's a good place to start.

This.
Also, what's stopping you from applying to a gamibf company?
>uninstall flash
>/f/ is mostly broken, even with firefox's shumway
so gay, i love /f/ and it's led me to discover countless things
>>51465411
use chrome. it has it's own flash player so you don't have to infect the rest of your system with it
>>51465708
This desu
>>51465708
Yup, this. I use chrome as a pleb browser to view pleb websites that don't care about cross browser compatibility and html5

It should be LG G4 vs Moto X Pure
and you should buy LG G4.
Do you think there's a group of hackers out there completely unknown to anyone, and have gotten away with almost everything?

Probably not a large group, creates too many liabilities
yup.
Okay /g/, does anybody have any experience with Ebay? I sold an core i5 3470 on the first of November described exactly as socket 1155 and the returns policy as no returns accepted. The buyer has only just realized that his motherboard only accepts 1150 socket CPU's and now he wants a refund? Should I just do it? I don't want to risk the fact that this buyer may have damaged the CPU trying to fit it into the 1150 socket.
I'm a seller on eBay (feedback 10k+)
The buyer should always get what they want, regardless of how much of an idiot they are, in eBay's view.
You basically have to accept the refund, let him send the item back to you and give the refund, otherwise he can claim its not as described or broken, without any proof, and you'll be out of pocket regardless.
>>51465101
No, you don't do it.
>>51465165
This is not at all true. If you clearly state your terms they don't get a blanket excuse. They messed up and OP can prove it.
So what's your opinion on Material Design, /g/?
Wasted space, revolutionary, or a gimmick?
Its okay.
It's okay. I liked the styling before but this is fine too. The animations are really slick and it feels kinda magical to use.
i can be great but too many people interpret it as 'let's just put everything inside cards.'
the early promise of animation rich transitions has failed to materialise (har har) as well.
needs some more time to mature, particularly animation libraries.
Has /g/ found any killer buys yet? (I live in the USA) I'm hoping to buy one for myself and one for my parents. If you consider it a solid (affordable) deal then please share.

I think I'm going to buy this bad boy. A whole 6 TB! They also advertise 1 million hours of MTBF whatever that is.
Should I? Are large HDDs at this size significantly more unreliable?
Of course western digital is the only choice as seagate HDDs are the worst hdds I've ever had the displeasure of using, while my 2 TB WD black is wonderful when it comes to performance.
Also I heard that 3 TB HDDs for some reason generally have a higher failure rate than 2 TB or less or 4 TB or higher. Is this true?
That price doe for the 6 tb... well, it's...

I don't know if this is the right place, but what's the best controller for PC? I honestly don't even know where to start or who to ask. I'm looking for something with two sticks that I can play FPS with, and before you start screaming, it's because I got RSI in my left hand from playing too much and it doesn't seem to want to heal. Any reccomendations or redirections to where I can get help would be appreciated.
It's really personal preference.
Xbox 360 Controller/ Dualshock 4/ Xbox One Controller are my favs
go to a store that his displays and try out the major console controllers. whatever you like best.
>>51464776
Either XB1 or PS4. There is now a XB1 wireless receiver for PC so you don't have to be connected with usb anymore. Also native support on windows without any extra drivers.

Whats the best keyboard for $60-$80?
>>51464804
Rumor has it, a Chinese keyboard with hotswappable switches will show up on massdrop soon for somewhere around $30-60.
I'd wait for it if this is gonna be your first keyboard. That way you don't find out after a a few weeks of usage that you hate the switches you bought.

What kind of programmer has the best social life?
Employed, non-autistic ones.
and what programming language?
>>51464826
That literally doesn't matter at all, unless you're using Haskell, in which case you have autism which disqualifies you from having a social life.
Didn't see a keyboard thread to ask this question in, so i'm starting this one.
