MICROSOFT IS FINISHED & BANKRUPT
>>51504826
Now that Indians have completely overrun Redmond expect MSFT to be gutted within 10 years.
Microsoft is making massive profits every year. They've been making shitty decisions like gutting master-race IE in favor of shitty Edge but they still manage to get that dollar bill.
>>51504826
I never even had the update showed in fucking windows updates thats how M$ works now.
Why is phone network unlocking mystical information known only to phone store employees and gypsy market stall owners?
I've got a Lumia 630 I want to unlock, but the last time I tried this with a decade old dump-phone I was no more lucky. Even when you've waded through all the currynigger websites offering unlock codes, nothing works.
Maybe I'm fundamentally misunderstanding something; are they single-use codes generated on request or something? If so, how come the software that generates them has never been leaked? Or reverse engineered?
What gives?

murica problems
Here in yuropoor, we use sim cards and phones are just dumb shells with an antenna. Your sim card, provided by your phone company, contains data like your number and which network it should connect to.
It baffles me that america doesn't just do that too. Are your phones custom-branded by every goddamn network provider and locked in to only be able to connect to them? So your phone basically becomes more like a terminal to connect...

I live in the UK, presumptuous fool.
But yes, that's pretty much how it works.
I just had a good chat online with an advisor from the company I purchased the phone from, and since it's PAYG and I've had it for more than 12 months I can get an unlock code for free. (I'll have to ring up and talk to Sanjit first, though.)
My question still stands, though, out of pure curiosity. According to Wikipedia the manufacturers will have software to generate the codes or will maintain a database...

why do they use windows 10 as the prison security guard?
because it always locks up.
how many programmers does it take to change a light bulb?
none, its a hardware problem.
why is it that programmers always confuse halloween with xmas?
because 31 OCT = 25 DEC
ever heard of the band 1023 bytes?
probably not, they've never had a gig.
So i have a spare laptop screen with some kind of "XGA cable"? (pic related)
Is there any way to convert this to vga or anything? I wanna use it as a secondary screen.
also interested, got some laptops, would be cool to use them as wall-mounted screens
you need an lvds controller

It doesn't matter faggots, it stopped to be about software anyway, botnet is in your processors. How do you explain yourselves now? No matter what OS,browser,... they all run two brands of processors and they have backdoor and botnets inside them. Lmao

The new radeon settings looks pretty good. Although I personally never really had issues with catalysts, the new sleek ui and organization impressed me quite a bit.
What's your opinion? Also for comparison, how's the nvidia control setting like?
Pls no fanboy rants, just want a good discussion on the merits of each software.
Nvidia settings are pretty shit compared to this desu. I'm currently using a gtx 750ti but I'm sure my next card will be AMD
for now i just tried them with Far cry 4,i have a crossfire of r9 390 nitro and i m getting about a 10% increase of fps, no lag at all and the cards are consuming more watts out of the psu
Its still not a complete product as it still uses cataclyst when you do the "additional settings" under display.
This is a new setting, I think AMD wants to implement a monitor hacking utility.
>Windows 7 craps itself
>reinstall it
>can't update, no matter what
After 11 days, I tried and everything and it simply doesn't work. Even XP updates just fine, but not 7. I already have a loonix partition but I need Windows, and I'm not using a shit kid OS like 8 or 8.1 or a shit spyware like 10.
I wanted to use my Win 7 Pro license, but I just can't, because this shit won't update and it bothers me, fucking Windows Update it was always crap.

Get Vista SP2 and you should be fine. That being said, Windows Update is also crap on Vista. Most security updates will work/install with no problem at all but some optional updates refuse to work.
At least you can just blindly mark all important updates without caring about telemetry. Vista is the easiest Windows to debotnet.

enjoy the security leaks

Does anayone know a good program to play steam games on mac? Wine works for normal windows programs, but not steam games.
>>51504397
Steam
>>51504397
Run Steam through Wine.
It'll run anything that is compatible with DX9.
You won't be able to play Fallout 4 on a Mac or Linux for another year or two.
>>51504397
I wish there were an easier way to do this. Rebooting into windows just for games is a pain in the ass.
Despite being an old phone, any drawbacks on getting an iPhone 5S in 2016?
>>51504325
You will have fewer years of support.
That is all.
Last good looking iPhone imo.
>>51504330
I still like the form factor. Sure its a smaller device, but it doesn't bulge out of the pocket and still takes decent photos.
You have a chance that the newer iOS version that come out run laggy on your shit. This is no guarantee, of course, but we've seen it in the 4(S).
And yes, as >>51504330 notes, less support. To some extent, this overlaps with the poor performance.
daily reminder that 3.5mm jacks are the reason phones are so thick

"so thick"
phones are too thin actually.
Daily reminder you're a little picky bitch if you think current smartphone are even remotely thick.

It was fun at the beginning tough.
Is there any benefit to using screen protectors for phones? Why is it a good idea to stick a giant plastic cover over the entire screen just to prevent some potential smudges?

Lets discuss AI and AI related topics muhfuggas
Do you think the singularity is even possible?
Is it far away or soon to be upon us?
there was this AI developed by google that could play video games, any news about it?
>>51504306
I havent actually heard about that one.
Could it play a fixed set of games and or did it adapt to new games aswell?
Also did it look at least semi competent?
Also i mean if its just a fixed set of games that would not be all that hard to do.
>>51504217

what does /g/ think about 8 TB harddiscs. thinking about buying this for my highres movie archive.
heard its incredibly slow after a certain dataamount. but for moviewatching i guess its ok?
also heard 10TB coming soon.
what do you guys think?
I doubt it
It'll be fine.
Just don't use it for stuff you can't easily redownload.
Don't worry about waiting, all that matters is you get a good price/TB
Usually they're $50/TB, with the black Friday sales you should find some for $25/TB, or $200 for 8TB.

you doubt what?
