The Note 7 is about to come out in August I heard. I was about to upgrade to the Note 5, now I am waiting.
I was about to upgrade to a Latitude laptop and build a new micro-XTI.
But now I am wondering, what is the usual time frame for intel, nvidia, etc etc come out with their new hardware? I would have been extremely mad to buy the Note 5 then a month later oh look the Note 7 is out.
I am wanting to upgrade all my electronic hardware. So which month(s) do the companies release their newest iteration so I can buy the latest?

Redpill me on Qwant, /g/. Is it any good? It's the default browser in Iridium (de-botnetted Chromium fork)

Do you have Lux installed on CyanogenMod? You can use the builtin LiveDisplay feature by going to Settings > Display > LiveDisplay.
Also, Qwant is not a browser, it's a search engine.

What?
Thinking of creating my first ever mini-ITX build.
Have I goofed anywhere? I'll be looking for deals on these parts elsewhere, so these aren't the prices I'll be paying. Any suggestions?

I wouldn't pay $120 for it. That was just the price listed on Newegg. I'd look for deals before buying.
I'm building myself a router for fun (and because finding an IPv6 router with AC is difficult and very expensive).
I'm getting an 2nd gen i5 machine with 4GB of ram and two PCI slots, which has a super small form factor. Now before you say this is overkill, it's like $35. I could get an old poweredge for marginally cheaper, but those things take up so much space.
I'm also getting a 2 port gigabit PCI NIC, one port will connect to a gigabit switch and the other port will go to the cable modem.
I plan on also buying a PCI AC wireless NIC...

buy a real accesspoint off ebay versus the USB route and just configure it to use the 'router' as the gateway/dhcp server

Read the subject. Post your SSDs and your read/write stats for others to jerk off to.
I am considering purchasing pic related after getting a refund for a faulty 850 EVO. Good choice or should I risk another 850?

I have an old Dell Latitude running a 32-bit linux, and I want to use it's hard drive in my Asus laptop that is 64-bit. When I put the Latitude hard drive in my new laptop, I don't even see the Asus splash screen. I know the hard drive works, and I wouldn't expect the 32-bit OS to load, but I would at least expect to see the splash screen and be able to go into my BIOS/boot from USB.
Do I need to wipe the hard drive before I can use it? Or does Dell have some strange DRM that will not allow me to reuse this hard drive?

Why not? AMD64 processors can run IA32 software.

Sure, just post your contact details and I will help you learn to hack. I'm one of the best in the business and a member of the elite hacking squad in Anonymous.
Anyway just leave a contact and I'll hit you up. Ideally phone number, but if you provide your I.P address I can resolve your phone number and address from that and we can go from there. Either that or you can snapchat me and I'll backtrace it.

Machines are already better at everything than us, if you program a machine to do someone's job, they will be better at it, 100% of the time, it's just figuring out the logic behind someone's work. But of course we will never give the machines the power of control over their own lives, they won't be sentient and they will be slaves.

Yes, we know everything is already from China but in here we discuss the no/low-name cheap shit you see on Gearbest, AliExpress, eBay and similar sites.

Hey /dpt/, I was wondering what the best way to terminate a python application when a certain key combo is pressed would be?
why do webdevs like shitty technology?

Javascript has such an anaemic standard library that it pretty much forces you to pull in something. jQuery was one of the earliest, so it gained marketshare before everyone realised how shit it was.
Why is Linux not written in C++?
I bet it would be much more readable and flexible if they used OOP.
OOP isn't appropriate for performance-critical applications since it doesn't translate well to machine code.
>>55395311
I wish there were namespaces in C ;~;
>>55395267
They do use OOP, they just don't use the polymorphic, garbage-collected system that Java uses that people associate with the word "OOP".
C++ is unnecessary because many of its conveniences aren't usable in a non-hosted environment.
How do I become one of these Google programmers being paid $ 250 k a few years after graduation? I'd have to move to America as well (currently live in the UK).
Are there any areas of programming where getting involved in would increase my chances of being hired?
