Why aren't you using Fedora /g/?
It has bleeding edge packages, it is user friendly and in the same time stable enough for average desktop. Even Linus Torvalds use this distro.

Intended for users of all levels, including absolute beginners.
There are three ways to try Linux, you can:
1) Install a Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
2) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full Linux experience".
3) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with GNU/Linux (not recommended)
If you are serious about switching to Linux and if you have Windows dual-booted (recommended for pure newbies),
we recommend you use it exclusively for 2 weeks,...

Seriously tho, using a Daw on the linux side of things is an absolute nightmare getting that ass backwards Dssi-vst wrapper working correctly. Even then it's just not even worth it.
Is this any good?
if thats the 50$ model, no, you're paying for 50$ worth of hardware, its not going to be a super tablet

Will they become great again? Will Nvidia and Intel dominate GPUs and CPUs in the future?
>>51532853
>Will they become great again?
Maybe. At least they'll be significantly better than they are currently, and thats something.
>>51532853
>great again?
Trump pls
Never. All the talent is at Nvidia and Intel. Unless they somehow get a breakthrough in technology and come out with something vastly better for cheap and don't fuck it up with something like usual they will always be the poorfags choice.
>can't upgrade CPU cause waiting endlessly for Zen
>can't upgrade gpu because Pascal and next-gen HBM cards aren't here yet
>no point owning more than 8GB RAM or buying redundant DDR3
>processor power progression stalling all over the place
>4K is not nearly ready for widespread adoption
>everyone is buying heavily into the phone and tablet fad
>even laptops are seen as cumbersome and only necessary for work needs
Desktops are pretty much dead.

I too know this feel
I'm still on a Phenom 2 and HD4870
Save me from this feel.
>>51533025
staying at this level is probably why the market has stagnated
also because of dipshits like intel figuring out retards will pay for 0-5% performance increases even if it's a 30% increase in price just for the ability to overkek
Which app do you use to browse 4chan on your phone?

Sorry for killing a thread for this, but I can't tell if my mobo pins are bent. I built a computer recently, and ended up RMAing a PSU because when I pressed the power button, the fans would all spin for a millisecond, and then nothing would happen. The red light on my motherboard would stay on, but it wouldn't post and nothing would happen. I searched a bit online and found out this is usually a psu issue, so I returned it.
However, on a whim today, I decided to check my motherboard and noticed that half my pins look uniformly bent to one side and vice versa.

Graphic card general. What are we buy, looking for, waiting for?
I just bought a 670 for $115 including shipping to SLi with my current one. I needed a little more power while I wait for Pascal.
>>51532345
Pascal and HBM.
GTX 980 already struggles with a single 4k monitor.
We all wish for 120 fps on triple 4k monitors with a single GPU for less than $500. Until 8k comes out.
390 worth it? should I spring for 390x? what is best right now?
Tried to trifire a 290x with two 290's for fun
