Is i7 and 8gb ram for macbook air overkill?
>>51536152
it's overheat
>>51536152
It's ok, but I would wait until the next gen Macbook Airs next year for a big buy. I personally own one with an i5 and 4gb ram and it runs absoltutely fine (running Mavericks)
>>51536221
nice meme
>>51536152
Yes, because it'll never go past 800mhz.
Wtf r these 2 holes? And what are they for?
I think they are for external water cooling, not sure though
>>51536086
They're grommets for watercooling.
Few years back my friend asked the same question, his sister ended up getting her finger stuck in the things.
>>51536086

What does /g/ use for organizing images? I have like 10,000+ I have accumulated over the years posting on this site and it's nearly impossible to find anything anymore. Windows Explorer is pure trash since things can only ever be in one folder/category at a time. Is there an alternative or replacement for Explorer that would allow me to sort things into multiple categories at once and be able to find them for posting on 4chan or other things?
>>51535852
We're both in the same sticky situation. I'm bumping your thread. I need answers too. You could delete them but I rather sort them into a nice looking directory of folders. Halp.

What do you mean? Just name images as tags, put them all in one folder and search them in Windows Explorer.

Let's change that

OP needs some buying advice:
Use case:
- Currently looking to replace my HD6950
- Card will be mostly used to play recent games after work at 1440p
- Anticipate to buy a VR headset if any good (dx12 and vr optimization would be nice)
- Do scientific computations professionally so CUDA is nice but not required at all as we also have CUDA cards on server at work
In short, I need something that can push 90+fps in 1440p reliably.
I have been eyeing the GTX 980ti for a while now but that is 700EUR while...

Will 2016 be the year of the Linux desktop?
>>51535730
>year of the Linux desktop
>ever
Only if updating through the terminal is fixed. It needs more of "matrix" theme. Just imagine how much pussy you could get after that is fixed.
Desktops are kill.
Year of the Linux Laptop perhaps.
Owners of the gtx 960 could you tell me about the card, and if it is worth it? No amd vs nvidia please.
>>51535511
Only if you can get it for under $180, honestly.
>>51535511
Sure OP
I have the 2GB Asus Strix and its just fine
Fall Out 4 at Ultra but with God Rays at Low I get from 60 to 30 fps when in high combat
>>51535511
I have the eggs ssc 4gig card. Runs everything fine. Gta v on ultra generally fine. Sometimes stoops down. Only cause I push it
Reminder that it's pronounced /ˈdʒJf/, as in giant, gym, generation, geography or gentleman.
>>51535509
>its pronounced with a J
half the world renamed this cleaning shit Cif because they can't pronounce J's, what makes you think there is any legitimacy saying 'Gi' is a J?
even if the creator is so pedantic that it must be, it simply isn't, because people know what a g is.
>>51535509
>>51535513
I will pronounce g as in gift. I think if a lot of us do the same, gif will become the correct pronunciation instead of jif.
We can do it, brothers! Say it with me. Gif. Gif. Gif.

no
RAM and ROM are mutually exclusive.
Related question, how does the speed of XPoint compare to DDR4? I know Intel is planning on selling XPoint as both a DIMM and Disk, separately, but why would anyone buy an XPoint DIMM if DDR4 is cheaper and faster?

Give edge extensions support.

Remove botnet and installll Gentooo.
When will we get another Windows OS that can run at 512MB ram?
My dearest /g/,
I will finally be able to make a trip to the glorious lands of freedoms and burgers.
I will even be able to visit its heartland, where the mighty googles, githubs and facebooks take care that I check my privildges!
But to fully enjoy that trip, I need a connection to the great wide intertubes in the sky.
And while my European carrier will gladly give me this connection, the prices for that will be of a rather middle eastern origin…
So long story short, my family:

AT&T Go Phone senpai
>>51534781
you can get "bring your own phone" plans just about anywhere. i got a blu studio energy off amazon and got a sim card from walmart on their "family mobile" plan for about $47 a month after fees. pretty sure you can do that at about any AT&T, T-mobile, Verizon, etc. store.
Prepaid SIMs are easy to get. Any Walmart or BestBuy (both of which are common stores) will have various prepaid SIMs you can put into any unlocked phone.
Go myself a SDR kit today. Found there's two pager frequencies that's still in use that I've been monitoring.
Outside of the standard test messages, looking like they're mostly used by government services. Reports of bonfires, grass on fire, a healthcare server that's is low on disk space, and one possible death which included the victim's address.
Kind of worrisome since they're not encrypted.
wat
>>51534622
Public service stuff usually isn't encrypted, but most places have gone digital. I live in the suburbs and, big surprise, the main city still uses analog for police fire and paramedic. I love to sit and listen to the police. It's comedy gold on weekends.
>>51534847
Yea, I hope to pick up the police's one as I suspect they'll be some interesting messages, although the stock antenna doesn't pick it up. Looking to build a better one.
