Favorite keyboard?
I don't think this needs an explanation.

ublock0 because it lets me keep 400+ tabs open without my computer dying from RAM starvation.
>>51559157
adblock plus because unlike ublock it uses no ram

Amen, brother.
Can someone explain how the technologically illiterate home users will secure their internal networks if we adopt IPV6?
>Every machine has a globally routeable IP address
>Idiots never patch their systems
>Everyone's parents and grandparents are hacked
IPv6 is literally botnet pushed by NSA/Google because IPv4 + NAT is working too well.
>what is unique local
>what is link local
You're a fucking idiot OP.
Port Address Translation is still possible in IPv6.
There will be an advisory notice of some kind at some point that worried users should set it up.
There are also stream inspection mechanisms that can operate atop standard ly3 streams without routing i.e. Variants of NAT.
What's with the obsession with large amounts of RAM?
I've never had a desktop or laptop with more than 8GB of RAM and I've never felt like I've needed more. Is having more than 8GB of RAM necessary?
I understand video/photo editors benefit from more RAM but for the average person, is it worth it?
>>51559130
Its the only thing the average normie can quantify without getting confused. Ask him what GPU it has or what speed the RAM runs at and he won't have a clue.
because for these people more=better

big number = gooder
found it in the park, what is it /g/?
3.5mm headphone jack to microphone adapter
probably used by one of those religious nuts who shout bible verses at the park
Looks like a cerebral jack. Where exactly did you find this?
Butt plug
When I open my eyes every morning I pray to God that the "developers" of Gnome 3, GTK3, Unity and other hipster crap die from cancer.
>anon is too stupid/helpless to setup his own de
>>51559090 Half of the apps are already fucked up. Who cares if you can install XFCE, you're still forced to put up with this hipster shit.
>>51559075
Wouldn't be a problem if hipster apps were limited to hipster DEs. Problem is, they pollute everything. You install a tiling WM, set a simple GTK theme but every 2nd program is a GTK3 adwaita faggot crap and nothing can be done about it. Fucking hipsters, make your own isolated distro and stay contained.
I actually hate gaymen keyboards with absurd buttons and size, weird leds everywhere and ugly shaped. But the pic related (logitech g710) was $49 due to black friday, has cherry mx blue. Basically I wanted to experience mechanical keyboard for the first time and unfortunately this was the cheapest one I could find and it's ugly as sin. $49 is like a steal, still waiting to be shipped. Did I fuck up by buying it, did I get jewed?
>>51558408
G710 is known for fragile keycaps, you'll certainly not want to mash on the keys.
>>51558521
Are the keycaps replacable, by any brand? I mean is there a standard key shape for mechanical keyboard or does every company produce their own shaped keys?
>>51558533
Technically yes, there a bunch of companies that make replacement keys, the only problem I think is that a set of quality caps is going to set you back almost as much as the board itself.
I never used the "new tab page". Despite setting it to be blank and then replacing it completely with about:blank using Tab Mix Plus, I found out there's a "thumbnails" folder in my Firefox profile directory with screenshots of the pages I open the most often.
The only way to stop this is to add a new entry to about:config:
> to disable the creation of cached thumbnails generally, enter about:config into the firefox location bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up). right-click somewhere in the page and...
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Lmao, who fucking cares?
>>51558332
you should be terrified you fucking retard.
>>51558186
my thumbnails folder is empty?
I'm looking for a 22-24" monitor
I have no idea what to pick, anybody have any recommendations?
I'm playing games like wither, fallout, cs:go, E:D, Civ V
>>51558150
be more subtle, don't let them know you're gaming
also, not yur tech consulters
>>51558495
but i'll use it primarily for gaming.
and i know u r not my tech consulters, but it won't hurt anyone(beside some mild annoyance), and if sb will be so kind ill get my anwser
I use 2 BenQ XL2411Z.
Good stuff, got them cheap.
/vr/ - Virtual Reality
I have a DK2 and I'm really impressed by its capabilities, but I haven't used it in over a year because last I checked there wasn't anything to do with it aside from a few crappy indie demos made in Unity.
Is there anything good for the Rift yet?
>>51558299
There was a Dinosaur island demo made recently. It's pretty good, in my opinion. I can't wait until vr becomes popular and actual games get made though. By that I mean games made with vr in mind, not vr tacked onto preexisting games.
>>51558299
Have you tried PPSSPP?
I remember it had a google cardboard option but I never actually tried it.
Wonder if it really works.
Well, cyber monday is coming up and I was wondering what you guys thought because I ended up having this debate with my friends last night. We're all upgrading our computers and I'm stuck between these two GPUS. Which do you think is the better mid-price card on the market right now? The R9 390 or GTX 970?
These were the two in discussion
R9 390:

GTX 970:

get the gtx for rainbow six gift lmao

>>51558153
Don't do it OP. R9 290X is notorious for dying earlier. It's kind of outdated also.
Are you waiting for anything today /g/?
Just this. Fucking nigger charges expedited shipping and then doesn't send it til the day before Thanksgiving.$40 for shipping and its gonna take a fucking week.
>>51557965
waiting on more price drops
I'm buying an i7 4790K, Gigabyte GA-Z97X-GAMING 5 (might change depending on the price and availability) and 16GB of RAM. I plan to OC my CPU @4.4Ghz, what would be the recommended RAM frequency to use, should I buy a a pair of 1600 Mhz, 1866 or even higher, 2133?
>>51557936
Really, the best formula is a combination of clocks /and/ timings. A low clock with low timings is not ideal, likewise, a high clock with high timings is also not good.
but, tl;dr, just get the 2133 as long as the timings aren't over 11.
>>51557936
Buy a 6700k and 3800mhz ddr4 for the same price instead
>>51558188
>but, tl;dr, just get the 2133 as long as the timings aren't over 11.
Ok, I'll try to get a 2133 11-11-11-30 then.
>>51558341
>Buy a 6700k and 3800mhz ddr4 for the same price instead
Yeah... and where do you get that kind of deal?
Here, I can get both a 4790K and 16gb of ram for less than the cheapest 6700k I can find.
COME THE FUCK ON
IS THERE NO APP TO TRANSFER FILES FROM ANDROID TO PC?
WHY THE FUCK IS XENDER, AIRDROID ETC FULL OF MALWARE SHIT
Try fx plus add on. You can down ad the apk for free somewhere
airdroid
Pushbullet.
Here was the original image. We have hexidecimal, qr code, and caesar cipher. Hexidecimal became a random string of characters, but I found that the anon who translated it to this forgot a few characters.
The qr code result is here
http://pastebin.com/vfagaWp8
I found myself unable to decode the base64
The Caesar cipher is shifted 17 to say PAY ATTENTION TO THE COLORS
There's probably a message hidden if you open the image as a txt file, but Amaze isn't cooperating with me right now.
>>51557907
Maybe the value of the colors have some significance
>>51557907
Never mind, there wasn't a message found if you open it as a txt file.
>>51558023
Yes, I've wondered how though. Blue, orange, and maybe transparent if you count it. Perhaps their hexidecimal values would help?
