For a $150 gaymen platform that werks, you gotta make compromises.
No /guts/ thread? Guess I'll make one. Post your beloved internals.

What's the purpose of that smaller expansion card?
>>51645683
Okay, I'll answer this now at the top so as to not get a load of posts asking about it:
Both cards are GPUs. I run GNU/Linux on the metal. One GPU is used by this linux system. I then have a Windows VM for which I use qemu-kvm to passthrough the other GPU. The result is I can switch to windows for playing games and using some CAD applications that aren't on linux. It's very convenient, but requires quite a lengthy initial setup.

Guys I've got a serious question here. My NAT type for my XBox shows up as strict. I want it to be open. I tried to fix it by configuring my ports, but the people at XBox told me to call the ISP. Shit idea. I called ealier and they said they can't even forward ports so I ended doing it myself. Now XBox said that I have manually open the NAT type myself, but I don't know how. I also called Netgear and they said I have to pay, but since I'm a poorfag I didn't pay them to do the stuff for me. So do you guys know how to open the NAT type for the XBox?
Whats the best phone an Ausfailian can get for around $600aud?
Also where would you buy it?
>>51645505
$768 gets you an LG G4
You might also be able to find an M9 for that price.
$300 gets you a Lumia 830
$600 on the dot gets you a Samsung Galaxy S5
Telstra has a deal on iPhone5S 16GB's for $499. Comes with a prepaid sim. I think its network locked too.
Also, why don't you use google, instead of asking 5chin. It is less complex typing that shit in, rather than making a post, finding an image. In summary, this question probably didn't need its own thread.
>>51645505
>where would you buy it?
Not Australia.
Check out kogan m8.
has anyone used any of these "natural" remedies to cure your sight problems such as myopia? if so, does it really work? any experiences/tips?
I'm thinking of getting this instead of a case of beer, but maybe /g/ has a better option?

Why do I keep hearing that here?
I have never seen an Apple ad here (Netherlands) from Apple itself, only phone companies sometimes advertise their iPhone deal, but never Apple talking about their newest release.
Meanwhile Asus for example advertised all over my university campus with their new Zenbook and on television there are shitloads of commercials from Samsung and untill a while ago HTC.
So where does this whole 'Apple is nothing but marketing' come from? Is it because Apple...

Taking data structures and algorithms course outside of that. Looking for Microsoft program manager or a product manager position. Pic related.

I'd take more classes in business administration and statistics though.

What do you need to do with your computer? in any case you should get an SSD for the OS.
Hey /g/,
I want to buy Xiaomi Piston IEMs but I can't decide whether to buy Piston v2 or Piston v3 Dazzle Edition. Dazzles are literally $2 more, but I can't find anything on them on the Internet apart from them being "a more colorful version in cheaper packaging".
Does anyone here own Xiaomi v3 Dazzle and can confirm they're legit? Or maybe v2s are just better and there's no reason to lurkmoar?
>>51645231
I'm actually using the Piston v3's right now. I've had them for about 3months and for some reason the volume of sound they output has lowered to a whisper. Both buds still work and in a silent room they sound great still, but for some reason they are extremely low and you can't hear anything coming out of them in a noisy environment. Mine may have been duds but next time i'm getting the v2's
>>51645231
I had a pair of V2's but they broke and I can't find them for sale anywhere.
why not the new hybrids? 20 bucks isn't really a lot compared to 10 or whatever
HDD docking station vs NAS?
Which is better? Which scales up better? Need more storage (only have laptops) and don't want to keep buying external HDD.
Getting the whole enclosure, seperate mobo, power consumption seems a little taxing and too much upfront.
>>51645157
But it looks cooler has more functionality and is better for your drives than some guaranteed to die be shit docking station.
>>51645157
bump for interest
>>51645157
if you just want local storage no reason to fuck with a nas
How does /g/ feel about the Microsoft Surface line?
Is it a good choice for someone who wants a light computer to both work on and goof around with after hours?
>>51644985
i think the hardware is cool, but i can never seem to think of a reason to recommend it over other small/light laptops that are cheaper, faster, and have the benefit of a proper keyboard/hinge.
I am interested in a Lenovo Miix 700. Keyboard comes included and it even has LTE built in. Plus it costs less shekels.
I have a pro 2. It's pretty cool and is all around a great computer. The battery life is pretty suckish even with the power cover. The magnetic connector, while super cool, is really annoying to line up sometimes since it doesn't just "snap" into place. The screen is fantastic, windows scaling on the other hand is not. The keyboard cover is a gimmick. It works, but there are better solutions, like something that is rigidly attached to the device or not attached at all. It scratched pretty easily since it's painted black. It has a super huge bezel. I...

way too small, he should upgrade that to 64gb
All in all, not bad for $5000 which I'm 95% sure is only going to be used to play Rocket League and League of Legends.

Why are printers the most consistently shit piece of consumer technology out there? It seems like in terms of reliability, there hasn't been any progress made and no matter what you buy, it goes and dies faster than any other device. And it's not just home printers either, it also seems to be the one thing most likely to die in any office environment as well.
Oddly enough, the only one that's survived a decent amount of time for me is the somewhat ancient black and white HP laserjet that I've had for longer than I can remember.
Here's the trick: NOBODY MAKES MONEY OFF OF THE ACTUAL INKJET PRINTERS.
What happens instead:
>ink for printers becomes a hot commodity
>the printers themselves are always sold at a loss, so companies try to get them as cheap as they humanly can
>this means they're fragile as shit
>this means they break quickly
>none of this matters, because they just need to sell more ink to you
Buy a laser printer, nerds
It's actually cheaper to buy a new printer than replace the ink lol
Costco offers good inkjet refills.
Hey /g/.
First time posting, I'm a high school teacher planning an end of year lecture on technology and the role it plays in modern society.
I'm looking for articles and videos both defending and attacking modern technology. Literature in particular, short stories and the like. Think of life in the 1950's and compare and contrast it with life today. Just looking for various mediums dealing with this or similar issues/topics.
Just curious what y'all insight might be.
Looking for basic ideas, so the more vague the better.
Thank you.
