So what's everyone working on?

Hey guys I'm in the middle of project so I would really appreciate if someone could help with this rather simple but weird thing.
Look at http://jsfiddle.net/dwec3kwx/6/ , when you hover the square in Chrome it rotates but if you move your cursor while still on square he will trigger hover effect again. Should this happen?
In Firefox it doesnt happen like this, it happens the way I intended to. It will not trigger hover until you move away from square completely.
Can you see it too? How do I fix this for Chrome? I mean I know how to fix it with adding a third...

What do you use to download large files directly, /g/?
Usually Bittorrent.
If it's over HTTP I'll just use my browser.
WGET if I'm CLI-only for some reason (usually SSH).
BitComet if im downloading an mp4 from a streaming site

There are three ways to try GNU plus Linux, you can:
1) Install a GNU plus Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
2) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full GNU plus Linux experience".
3) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with GNU plus Linux (very recommended, for your freedom)
If you are serious about switching to GNU plus Linux and if you have Windows...

how can i hack the gibson
does anyone have experience with Microsoft Visual Studios on GNU Linux? I know it's proprietary, but my Assembly courses require it. It is the only thing holding me back from committing my desktop fully.
Im not sure if this is the right board for this but has someone worked with CNC machines here?My parents found what they think is "easy" job as being programmer/operator(they have no idea which one but said "i just need to press some buttons on the computer")but im worried it might require things i have no idea of.
You have no idea how to use one but you have a job operating one? You better hope they have on the job training
>>51698133
this.
You lucked the fuck out OP
People kill for jobs like that.
>>51697834
Take a class at your community college and try again I see those machines in the college if your college is good they will have a class
Why do you use this shit?
It's not like seeing ads matter anymore, it's 2015, you all have 150 down/50 up, you all have fast computers. Loading a few products do not impact browsing.
And all ads have a way to mute sound now.
Really, I do not understand this mindset. Be sure that developers are actively working to permanently disable these addons.
>>51696386
The few shitheads who abuse the system ruin it for everyone else. If people weren't assholes with 500 different popups and script redirects and other shit that try to hijack my browser to look at their stupid ad, then I wouldn't block them. But sadly far too many people go this route, so the few that put reasonable ads wind up suffering.

There is literally no fucking point to Raspberry Pi
Prove me wrong.
>only 5 dollars son
5 dollars my ass, you need wifi, memory card, wireless keyboard/mouse module, power adapter, case for the unit itself and so on
>muh performance
The performance is what you could get from a 30$ android smartphone and the phone already has all you need by factory

More along the lines of "why cant literally everyone I know hold on to their expensive shit?"
Everyone I know has completely shattered phone screens (even the ones who bought otterboxes/lifeproofs) and laptops with broken shit.
Meanwhile ive never even damaged much less destroyed any electronic device.

Other business laptops are also welcome in /tpg/ (e.g. Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook).
If you're looking for purchase advice, READ THE BUYERS GUIDE FIRST. Then post, stating budget and requirements (e.g. size and performance).
Don't buy anything OTHER THAN T, X AND W SERIES if you want the Real ThinkPad Experience™
Recommended models:
T420 - 14", normal size
X220 - 12.5", lightweight

How many of you have changed a HDD for an SSD? Was it night and day?
When you have a SATA 2 thinkpad, do you benefit from a decent SSD?
i read the guide but theyre a lot more expensive in the netherlands, what do?
>>51684296
got myself mSata ssd so I don't have to swap hdd, what buggers me is fact that people are still looking at sequential speeds in ssd but for os you need fast(er) seek time and a lot of IOPS for small files and I bet you would see difference even on sata1
my advice: you got money -> go for it
Anyone here use a dedicated non apple mp3 player?
no.
Literally why
>>51682788
because smart phones and apple products are stupid
why has netbeans and glassfish fucked me every moment it has the chance to this semester?
i've only ever been able to connect to a DB and actually test my code for a project once this entire semester. the rest of the time i have to ask people to test it for me like a fucking idiot. how is this even possible?
>>51711808
You seem to be retarded.
Kill yourself.
>>51711808
Well to be fair netbeans is pretty shitty, as are most Java based IDEs, nobody can blame you for fucking it up
I reinstalled netbeans like 4 times in my senior year because it just won't fucking work.
Then I tried to get used to it and basically learned how to deal with its shit. It's still my least favorite IDE even today
>>51711821
i've contemplated it several times over the last 4 hours
i cant even find a service i can pay to walk me through the process of just setting up a DB and connection pool for a project
>paying more than $10 for a mouse
>paying more than $20 for a keyboard
>paying more than $200 for a phone

I'm a NEET pleb, /g/. I don't know anything but the most basic shit about how to use computers, but I am considered the family computer wiz because I know how to google and shit, (I spend all day in front of one and am able to fix all their problems so they think I am a computer genius) a family friend is trying to set me up with an IT job and has been sending me emails about jobs in my area. This is the latest one, I told her I've never used CAD before and I'm not familiar with it and she replied
>A lot of that stuff is all,...

What would be the point of knowing how to use CAD software without any functional mechanical engineering knowledge?
>how do I let her know I can't do shit
Open up Solidworks, CATIA, Inventor, or whatever and show her a model you made (it has to be dickbutt), and tell her, "This is the best I can do."
Why are you such a liability to your nation?
