Why is it nobody understands basic internet shit? Me and my two roommates just got internet, I was going to put it in my name and talk to the ISP myself, but my one roommate did it before I could. Of course he believed whatever they told him, so he got the 80$ a month package which is 12Mbps, bits not bytes. He claims they told him it is super fast cause he just told them he only has an Xbox, while I told him to get the fastest they had. He told me, nah man it's blazing fast! But he also thinks it's bouncing off "internet towers " because we have a wireless...

Internet speed is pretty much always written in bits you twat.
>80$
I smell a monopoly.
Also WTF are soft/hard data caps? You have DATA CAPS on your non-mobile connection?
>>51809084
Yes this is becoming quite common. I currently live in an apartment complex with two roommates and we are forced to use Comcast for phone/internet/cable and they apply a monthly 500gb limit. For every 50gb we go over, we have to pay an additional $10.
On top of this, we also are forced to get their basic cable package (because ISP'S know we just want Internet to watch tv).
>>51809084
I know is in bits, which is why I was so wtf when he said 12 megabits a second, and I was hoping maybe he meant bytes and using a more customer friendly term or something... I was wrong. And yes, there are multiple ISP around here that have caps. We have other providers here but this is the only one that services this particular house, it's fucked up.
What x99 motherboard should I get?
pls
Atx or smaller?
Asus has the OC socket, which is pretty nice.
My x99a has worked great thus far. One year old now.
>>51808994
nice, those are going for $240 right now right? I was thinking of picking it up
ITT: Post
Mobile carrier
How much you pay/month
How much high speed LTE you get
I have Boost mobile, pay $60/month, and get unlimited high speed LTE.
>tfw don't know what the fuck to do with 30-40 Mbps of download speed
>>51807656
Also post speed test if you are able to.
>>51807656
>Mobile carrier

>How much you pay/month

>How much high speed LTE you get

The Telegram audit has just been published and describes two theoretical attacks by changing the ciphertext in order to decrypt the encrypted plaintext. Source: http://eprint.iacr.org/2015/1177.pdf

>>51806576
well shit looks like my project could have a chance
i should really get back to work ugh
Lots of telegram users have been put in prison for stuff they wrote using it. It's just a honeypot to get terrorists, don't use it for personal information
>>51806576
from what i see in the pdf the data is still secure, the attacker can mess with padding or garble last bit of text
but can't decrypt any of it
How do we get mook into computers?
he said he was a "huge linux nerd" in the q&a
>>51805373
Lies. He can't even run a server. He is probably just a ricing fag.
>>51805449
>implying doing server maintenance means you can't run a server
So I just got a new laptop for Christmas.
Should I downgrade from the built-in Windows 10 back down to 7?
I wanna go back to 7 since it's what i'm used to, but if 10 really is better then I might as well stick with it.
make your own fucking decisions you tool
Install Gentoo
Stay with Windows 10 anon. All this botnet thing is just the collective paranoia of /g/ because they can't read a fucking Privacy Policy.
Sup /G/, bought my first raspberry pi, lets hear some good shit to try with it?
>>51804396
throw it in a drawer and forget about it.
just saving you the trouble of figuring out that's the only thing you can do.
try shoving it up your ass
>>51804396
Use it as an ftp/ssh/whatver server? That's what I did for my first project, and it really helped me learn to use the terminal.
What is the best version of mpc-hc to use ?
https://nightly.mpc-hc.org/
And don't fall for the MadVR/xy-VSFilter bullshit meme. The integrated EVR renderer is perfectly fine, so is the internal sub renderer.
Vanilla MPC-HC on Stable builds has never failed me.

It is practically impossible to teach good programming to students that have had a prior exposure to Java: as potential programmers they are mentally mutilated beyond hope of regeneration
All good unis teach Haskell first anyway
Programming noob here, why? And in Layman's terms please.

Hey /g/, what are some essentials you have on a flash drive that you carry around with you?
>pic related
Homework, 2d girls, Linkin Park, some ominous warning that only mother will see.
>>51798893
I don't carry around a flash drive. I have my laptop. Faggot.
I don't carry a flash drive around with programs an such.
I use to in college. Portable Firefox so I could run it on the school PC's.
And I use to have Frostwire installed on my iPod Classic actually to download on different PC's.
