Peter Sunde gives the fight for Internet freedom
>Well, I have given up the idea that we can win this fight for the internet.
Why are we so lazy?
Can only FOSS help us? >>51841093
He's right. The current public client/server network that most people call the "Internet" is dead and not worth saving.
IPFS, Maidsafe, Freenet, and a bunch of other
content-decentralized serverless networks will be the future, and that's where dev work needs to refocus.

Should I buy a Sennheiser Urbanite for 99 euros?
Looking for something to replace my old MDR v55.
I'm not an audiophile, just looking for something that I can carry around and that will last 1 or 2 years of light use.

On-ear?
Seems okay for that price, really bass heavy.
Going to install Debian later tonight on a laptop what should I go with, stable or unstable, testing.
Looking for some insight from current Debian users.
I'm currently running arch but ain't no body got time for all the daily updates, how frequently does the testing/unstable branches get updated compared to arch.
>>51844690
stable is, well, stable. rock solid on servers, but don't expect bleeding edge anything by default. serious issues are almost unheard of on stable.
testing should work fine for a desktop if you can live with minor issues from time to time. i've used it before.
never tried unstable.
>>51844690
You should go with stable + backports or unstable. I can't really see the what a reasonable usecase is for testing, when it gets security updates and patches more slowly than unstable when something breaks. If you use arch you will probably find even unstable significantly more stable.

What's the point of building a PC with an expensive i7 and gaming graphics card if you're going to install Linux on it?
Bragging rights and VMs.

Do you know how much a Quadro GPU costs?
Gaming GPUs are a cheap alternative to do GPU based computing.

Is there a way to record WhatsApp and other similar app calls on Android? Normal call recording works okay but I get a lot of calls through WhatsApp that I need to record
Also is there a way to record video on Android 6.0 with the main screen off?
I'm super fucked off that all versions are Windows now come with spyware that can't be disabled. And I want to play games, I'm living in a nightmare, and I just roll with the punches.
So is the best course of action, to just dedicate a machine solely to playing games and never talk or interact on the internet on anyway with it. And dedicate another machine for browsing, editing, downloading, basically everything else. Correct?
Recently I've noticed that browsing the internet in any capacity tanks my torrent download speeds tremendously, of course I know that there's a drop in speeds but not to the degree that its been happening.
I didn't have this problem before a few weeks ago. I use deluge and can provide more information if need be.

Other business laptops are also welcome in /tpg/ (e.g. Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook).
If you're looking for purchase advice, READ THE BUYERS GUIDE FIRST. Then post, stating budget and requirements (e.g. size and performance).

Is anyone here familiar with a service called wrist society?
Supposedly you pay $29-$39 per month and they send you a watch. But their website has no information about what has been sent in the past and there are no reviews of the service I have seen.
At that price it cannot be good stuff.
Can it?
