So instead of paying for Netflix I was looking at the different VPNs and a few of them seem pretty good while staying fairly cheap : AirVPN, NordVPN, PureVPN, and Private Internet Access.
Apparently PIA is one of the best for its price, would you agree or choose another one?
I'm looking for one that doesn't keep any logs, doesn't kill your internet speed and allows P2P connexions.
PIA doesn't kill your internet speed and allows p2p, but i don't know about logs.
it's main benefit is going to the store and buying a Starbucks/Walmart gift card and paying with that.
didn't visa and mastercard ban payments with their prepaids to vpns? that would make it harder to pay for services without bitcoin.

you can also plug the psu in an outlet and touch it once in a while to ground yourself to prevent static build up.
>>51862859
Stop spreading the "ground yourself" meme. It just makes retards like OP scared when there is no fucking reason to.
>>51860873
Answer me this OP:
>In your house do you often get static shocks when you touch door handles or something?
Most likely your answer to this was no. So just go ahead and assemble your shit.
If you have crappy shit carpets and or sweaters and you belong to the 1% that do get static shocks...

Whoever said that you can't mix different ram sticks together? I have 3 4 gb and one 8gb ram in my rig, and boy, I multitask so hard it feels like god himself is in my mobo jerjerking off right now.
Yet another groundless /g/ meme debunked. One wonders why one still comes here at all.
>>51860869
Nice thread and whatever it was you wrote, who is the masturbation station?
Gita Hadizadeh. Who invented the DDR4 SDRAM chip, clearly.
>>51860869
i know this is bait.
no one said you can't mix and match ram.
What they say is that if you mix two or more different ram sticks in the same bank (or if you have full interleaving in all the banks) the computer will automatically adjust performance on all the sticks to mirror the lowest performing stick in each bank.
You also could loose your ability to run parallel sticks at once, and have to basically run one stick till it fills up and the overflow then gets distributed to the next stick in line...

I have to do a Project with kids (~9th grade i think) about data security.
The problem is: I am not sure where to start, as it is a really big field.
So i come to you:
>If you were a pupil (i am sure some here still are), what would you want to learn about data-security?
My ideas until now are:
- let the pupils google themselves
- Facebook-data-security
- secure passwords
- what is privacy and what stuff dont you want to expose to the internet?
just post ideas, i will look through all of them.
Teach them about free software

Hey /g/,
I just got a job as a System Admin at my university, and my job basically consists of deploying software to the Windows computers. The problem is, however, I feel that I am very unqualified at this job and I need some resources.
So if anyone knows anything about resources for App-V, XenApp, SCCM, Active Directory, Group Policy, etc. then please send them my way.
Otherwise, lets talk about how you guys are enjoying your jobs as Sysadmins.

Get over it faggot. Go see a shrink if you are so insecure.

But I really don't have any training in any of these applications and I can't even define what Virtualization is.
This isn't impostor syndrome, it is actual lack of training.

Turns out Libreoffice is perfect replacement for Ms office.
What's does /g/ has to say?
I'm a freetard and even I have to say that LibreOffice's font rendering kinda sucks.
Like, "it looks like there's a space between two letters in that word" when viewing at 75% kind of sucks
I've always hated MS Office. Its so slow and bloated, but I'm forced to use it for interop. I resort to Office Live for most tasks to keep that cancer off my hard drive but this is even slower and it also messes up .docx layout.
2/5 bravo Microsoft
>>51859648
Maybe versions previous to MSO 2013.
VR Thread.
Apparently, the NYTimes article published today on pg1 of the business section said that VR has no "raison d'etre" or raisin to be because whenever you ask even a head of any of these VR companies coming up what their killer VR app is they got nothing. Discuss.
>>51859654
u wot?
>>51859592
Killer app is 3D porn like the one they have on VirtualRealPorn.
Porn has always been one of the main factors to push technology further along with war and health.
They just can't proudly say: "You'll have an incredible pornographic experience.
PoV videos like you've never seen them before.
Also games.
But yeah, for serious business augmented reality is the way to go.
Is he right, /g?/
