I hate apple, just because I forgot my iCloud mail and pass, now I can't unlock my phone back. How do we even bypass this? I have to call my mom and I can't unlock the fucking thing.

>>51889757
get her a PS4 and charge her $50 for setting it up. you aren't doing all of this for free are you?
Did I fuck up?
I wanted a laptop without the garbage nonmechanical keyboard
I'm gonna use my poker 2 with this
dual core cpu is the only thing holding me back from getting one
>>51889720

This is pretty much every laptop.

I'm trying to decide between some motherboards and was wondering what I should be looking out for
So far I have it down to obviously the chipset at x99, with 8 Ram slots, quad channel ability, USB 3.1, and that's pretty much it
Anything else that might help me trim down my potentials list?
>>51889615
Oh also 3 way SLI
>>51889615
That board is beautiful, which is it?
>>51889742
MSI x99 SLI Krait Edition, one of the boards I was considering

Guys I'm going to build my first cheap HTPC and can't decide on the cpu. I want to use it for my living room's TV so I'm talking about just using Kodi as the main "os" for media and emulators.
Do I need a dedicated GPU? Because as far as I know emulators are mainly CPU work but I've been told Intel's integrated gpus can't even handle emulators properly. Would a i3 6100 (it's a dual-core but it has HT) do the job or should I go for a dual-core pentium+gpu combo?
>>51889547
Is that a fucking bear dog?
Ur mom was able to do the job for me
get rekt faget
Athlon 5350

So what VPN do you /g/olems recommend? Best free VPN vs paid ones?
>free VPNs
I pay for zorrovpn generally because VPN chains are kinda cool I guess
>>51889474
>free VPNs
You do realize that those services cost money and no one is going to be providing them for free right?
Do people still use ricemeter here?
I want to be able to monitor my gpu temps, specifically VRM1 and VRM2. What can I use to do this? I can't find any skins that already have it
This one that I found uses Rivatuner which doesn't seem to work properly because it's a program from 2009
If you're using ricemeter asians should come and fix the problem soon enough

How do you organize your pictures?
I don't
depends on the pictures.
i have a few thousand pictures of friends that i find attractive (often downloaded from facebook or instagram, in case they realize some guys are masturbating to pictures of them). it took a while, but eventually i manually tagged each image based on who was in it.
>>51889120
I dont
its a real problem too because I have ~100k pictures across all my machines
My method so far is to just make a new folder when an old one gets too slow
Ideally there would be some kind of software which when I save a file automatically renames and files it according to some naming standard I design (ie CAG-1123A.jpg) into a folder for similar files
But there is nothing like this yet
I have over 40k pictures of anime alone wtf am i supposed to do with these? just delete...

Why? I just did so last week.
Also post pastes.
AS 5 here, looking for an upgrade as the tubes oiling out and I'm starting to get stupid temps on my laptop. Currently looking at Gelid but fuck this cost per gram ratio.
>>51889062
Thanks for the reminder OP but I'm good, got my reminder set for "Thermal Thursday" as usual.
Anyone have a favorite brand they recommend? I bought a large tube of some Antec stuff 3 months ago and I'm already running low. PC gaming sure can be pricey, but it's good to know my CPU will stay cool enough to outlast the next console generation.
How do you people know that there isn't an NSA backdoor in Linux?
Firstly, Linux is over 12 million lines of code. 139,000 in kernel/, and the rest in arch/ and drivers/. Even in kernel/ alone, that's a lot. Surely, people check the kernel all the time, especially in areas where they specialize, but Linux is updated via a network of trust more than anything, and it's fairly easy to write inconspicuous-looking C code. One article pointed that even if there were a backdoor in it, it would have been gone by now. When the NSA approached Linus to add a backdoor...

Complete certainty is impossible, but the chances still look better than for Windows or OSX.
>>51889129
Yes, but chance doesn't mean jack shit. All it takes is ONE snippet of backdoor in the entire kernel to completely compromise your ENTIRE system.
>>51889154
On top of that, Windows/OS X may only have a couple of backdoor entry points, and it only needs a couple, because it's closed-source/proprietary. Linux, on the other hand, could have much more to raise its chances of being included in merges. Linux could have more backdoor entry points than Windows or OS X combined.
