What should a dude who doesn't have a bachelor's degree in CS be doing if he wants to get into a CS master's degree program? I already have a degree in a social science and I've taken the intro hard sciences but that's about it. I'm going to go talk to my local university's computer science department because from the website, it seems like they have a lot of leeway for students without bachelor's degrees in CS. I registered for a couple CS courses next semester as well, but not sure if there is anything else I can do.
Alright senpai, I'm a grad student currently. Here are year 1 topics. If you can't do these, you probably should get an undergrad degree first.

Hi I am a retard. I have a ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 mother board. http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z77%20Extreme4/
I need to get a new cpufan/heatsink since I have a stock intel one on and it seems to be just going ape shit all the time.
Not sure if it matters, but i have a Intel i5-3570K quad core cpu
How do I know which ones will fit, or just recommend me one please!
I was joking. It's way, way too much. The motherboard doesn't matter, pretty much any cooler is going to fit that socket. What matters is if your case has enough room to fit the cooler. What kind of case do you have?
>mfw booting up a linux distro
WTF! I thought this was supposed to be lighter than Windows!
I can take a shit faster than this!
Hey /g/angsters, this stuff keeps your circuit board or general wire matrix free of outside buttfucking via moisture and thermal/physical shocks.
How do I make this shit myself? I'll need a lot,
and $20 for every few miliLiters won't cut it financially. Anybody have any tips? or a cheaper provider?
and I don't want to spend
you could experiment with epoxies. if you need it rubbery, look into spray rubber or for tool handle dipping or whatever. If you don't need it transparent, of course. and mostr importantly meter whatever material you use.
I've always just put hotglue or kapton tape over anything important, but maybe you could use clear nail polish if mousture is an issue? Two part epoxy is also a traditional low-cost potting solution, though it will be messy for a big board like that.
I need some help /g/.
My computer shit itself, and in the meantime I'm using an old pc I got years ago.
What's the best Linux distro to use on it?
Here's the specs
>2 gigs of ram
>280 gig hdd
> AMD Athlon II X2 245 Processor
>no video card just the integrated graphics.
Should I get Skylake or Haslel? I'm building a new rig but not looking to overclock.
So ive tried, extremely hard, to overclock my old WMO 1.1a.
Windows 10 is a bitch to opperate with. Basically everything in registery is locked so im not allowed to change anything. Cant even remove mouse acceleration.
All the forums talking about this are just a bunch of sperglords that just rant about how 125hz is no different from 1000hz. (which is clearly false)
Has anyone here tried to overclock their mouse and remove acceleration in Win 10? Would really appreciate the help.
>Basically everything in registery is locked so im not allowed to change anything. Cant even remove mouse acceleration.
AHAHAHAA, is this for real? Even Pajeet can't defend this, not for the 2 microsoft coins he gets per post.
I'm hoping for the pc to be mostly used for gaming and I don't mind spending a little bit higher. Please do not include monitors, keyboard, or a mouse. It would also be nice to include a 1TB hard drive. I would also prefer if you guys used pcpartpicker.
So im just chilling, a bit tipsy and get up to make a snack. 10/10 snack complete. About to sid down and play some csgo when i see windows update screen in its full fucking glory. Then i see this shit and its taking years to get done. What the fuck happened to me? Already on windows 10 btw.
Oh yeah. This happened to me too. It's a minor update that takes the form of a major one.
>Literally the only thing that changed for me was some start menu icons
so I think it was a windows store "upgrade". I don't know for sure, I never use the thing. expect this to happen when edge finally gets extensions and when Redstone is released.
The old design for KDE's mascot wasn't good. At all.
But Christ. Just look at this thing.
If the result was going to still be shit then why bother with the effort?
>Hey have you heard about that new anime and flat design all the kids are into these days? What if we did that, but hired someone who can't draw to make us a disjointed collection of messy lines?
Clearly made by someone with assburgers.
Should my system be using 9.7 GB of memory while running 2 applications?
The two applications I'm running are Google Chrome (4 tabs open) and Task Manager. I'm running Windows 10 with Malwarebytes running in the background.
9.7 GB of my 16 available is like 61% of all my memory.. I just don't see how that can be right, my last rig running Windows 8.1 only had 8 GB...
Help please, someone.
Oh yea, I looked at that but it doesn't add to nowhere near 9.7 GB..

I offered to help my black friend who has novice level tech knowledge to build a PC for about 500-600 USD. I've never made a build this cheap. inb4 Tryhard faggot. But here are his requirements can run COD at max at 1440+ and BF4 at max 1080+ and to be as quiet as possible. I'm thinking an AMD build with nice stealth be quiet! parts.
