I've just built a new rig and would like to see other peoples builds, Extra shekels to the person that has a 4790k that can beat my 900+ cb score.
All are welcome, Good, Bad, And ugly. I like looking at other peoples results.
FX- 8350 fag here, I will do one. 7 minutes til it downloads because I'm already downloading shit. So if you're patient enough I'll post it.
>>51976964
I'll be here.
My score sucks but my CPU is already at about 10% usage so not sure how that affected my score. Either way I probably wouldn't have gotten as good as you but I probably would have gotten a bit higher with a focused system.
I can't cancel that surface scan. Shit's been running for like a long time already.
Alright /g/rinks, I have a challenge for you.
Come up with the absolute worst computer you could possibly have the misfortune of using from parts commercially available today.
It must tick as many boxes as possible for being an utter shitbox. It must have the worst software possible, the worst peripherals, the worst power consumption, worst efficiency, worst heat managment, worst materials, worst everything.
Let's go
OS included? Anything Linux.
My mom bought herself a laptop with a 1.4 GHz AMD prossesor...in 2012
let's get this shit started
cheapest amd processor you can find
used nvidia gtx 970
kingston ssd
seagate hard drive
PSU from powercooler
zowie mouse
razer mechanical keyboard or a keyboard without numpad
logitech gaming headset
steam controller
browsing through this board completely blows me away. It amazes me how knowledgeable almost all of you are. I know more than the average person when it comes to electronics, but you guys completely shit on me in comparison. I would like to know how you first learned all this stuff. Is there some book I'm missing out on our something? (Bonus points if you recommend a good book, I like books)
Thanks /b/. I'm long winded, I know.
>>51976794
I learned spending my days perusing the Gentoomans library.
>thanks /b/
Personally I've always been interested in technology, ever since my mom brought home one of those gateway cow computers when I was a small boy.
I don't know shit, but I blend in bretty good while Linux faggots that wasted their entire existence spit out worthless command lines that make them look l33t.

What you have described can each be unique operations

I always saw options as something that turn features on/off while preferences modify existing features.
Same shit at the end of the day
If you want to buy or learn about gaming screens, give this pic a look.
Does it answer all your questions? Did I make any mistakes? Is there more info that I can add?
Your feedback would be appreciated.
Or buy a CRT, best of both worlds.
[spoiler]If you can find a Sony FW900, prepare for it to BTFO any 1080p monitor/spoiler]
>>51976427
Can you still buy a new CRT screen?
>>51976434
No, it's an outdated technology.
Bought anything to fill that empty void this Christmas /g/?

I would... if there were any that could compete with a desktop i5.
I'm guessing it's slower than my Athlon64

>People shill AMD on /g/
I cannot fucking accept this. Ever since i brought AMD/AMD its given me nothing but shit, from blue screens to underperformance to fucking crimson disabling my active mini-displayports, AMD is hot garbage and not worth the problems it gives.
Why do people think AMD has a chance anymore?
yes good goy support isreal
>>51975596
Shut the fuck up and stop shilling AMD already and just buy an Intel.
>>51975581
Because only two companies make x86 processors worth a damn. It's a flawed system which only created hatred towards others.
Why haven't you installed Windows 10 yet, /g/? Don't you want to be a normal citizen with a decent job with a decent pay?
>>51975140
But I have, anon.
Luckily I don't have aspergers so I was able to disable/block all the parts of windows 10 I don't like.
