Nexus 6 with apex, tapet for backgrounds and elun icon pack
>>51968576
Remove status bar and get a clock widget, remove searchbar, and may want to slim down on some icons.
>>51968603
Eh, while I like it without the status bar I don't want to swipe down three times to change brightness and shit
Regardless I like yours, 8/10
is it just me or has firefox's performance became more shitty since they fired their CEO?
Yes, he took away with him performance.dll and performance.so
>>51996791
i bet their management sucks.
>>51996666
No, don't be ridiculous.
Use "Refresh Firefox…" fromabout:supportand/or make a clean install and you'll see it's plenty fast.
Also if you're on Windows, make sure to get the newly released 64-bit version.
Hey /g/,
I'm a gamer with only a little hardware know-how,, so I need your help.
A couple of days ago, my PC started acting weird, with visual artifacts and random crashes. After getting it to run for a short time, I ran a FurMark test, which caused a crash. Next time I turned on the computer, the GPU fan was working unbelievably hard, and the GPU got VERY hot. My computer is now unusable.
My questions are:
1) Is there any way for me to make sure if any other hardware is damaged, before I buy a new GPU?
2) My build is approximately 3 years old....

I had a 'similar' problem a couple years back. If you're on windows, try booting into safe mode and see if these issues still occur. My problem was with the drivers. Installing them would instantly cause my computer to crash anytime it reached the login screen.
OP here,
I'm not entirely sure about the CPU, though I think it's the i7-3820, based on the LGA 2011 socket in my motherboard and because I think i remember it having 3,6Ghz
>>51996676
OP again. Yeah, that is very much the same problem. Safe mode works, even though there are still red lines all over the screen. I recently updated the AMD drivers, but undid the update from safe mode. It didn't remove the problem, though.
kde or gnome
Neither
You get locked into this weird world where you are obligated to use K-programs or G-programs and if you use a non-K or non-G program on KDE or Gnome respectively you have to install a secondary gui framework that looks completely foreign from everything else you running.
Have you ever seen iTunes installed on a Windows machine? Yeah, it's that bad.
Go with Cinnamon
i3 desu senpai
xfce
The scrollwheel on my G502's paint has started to peel off, leaving the wheel itself to start to rust.
I was considering replacing it with the deathadder, but all the reviews I see of that mouse mention double clicking and cheap builds.
Theres a guide online about replacing the g502 wheel with a G500 wheel, but a lot of people say that wheel wobbles...
My steel series before this had it's paint peel off...
Is there any mouse that just has no fucking retarded paint parts to peel or horrible firmware problems?
Also, what do you guys...

I use a left-handed Deathadded. I find the shape very comfortable to use and haven't encountered the double-clicking problem, yet. Obviously if you're concerned with long-term reliability, it's not the best option, but I still recommend it. You can easily open up the mouse to fix the double-clicking issue usually.
>start to rust
Maybe wipe your hands after you masturbate you fucking filthy mongoloid.
C++ is to C as Lung Cancer is to Lung.
Prove me wrong. Protip:
you can't.

No it's extra cancer, that's what 'C' stands for.

How do I get into embedded programming?
I had an arduino, but I didn't like how it tries to abstract away everything so you don't learn anything, and then I broke it when I tried uploading a sketch.
I figure I should probably get a USB in-circuit programmer and some microcontrollers to play with, but I don't know how cheap I should go, and I also don't want to end up with an overpriced "maker" kit.
>>51995651
Cool clock ahmed
>>51995651
If you broke an Arduino your future is not looking too bright.
>>51995651
>probably get a USB in-circuit programmer
Just get an AVR chip or an ESP8266 based stuff like ESP-12 from China.
Learn how to make. For programming the AVR use an usbasp, also get a usb->serial module(cable) that could be useful for a lot of shit from debugging to programming something like an ESP-12.
Use aliexpress to get your shit chip from China.
Review the basics of analog and digital circuits. Make sure you understand networks made of analog elements, that bascily...

Can we all agree that the Chromecast is an essential must have technology item?
>>51994775
Why?
chromecast a shit
it doesn't support 10-bit video
you can't watch video from local sources without jumping through hoops
everything has a caveat
you're much better off making a HTPC and plugging it to your TV instead of this trash
>>51994775
Meh. I have a Fire TV Stick and use it exclusively for Kodi.
Why is Microsoft called Microsoft?
micro-computer software
>>51994701
Because they have micropenises

>Taking the initiative following the British government’s interest in bringing forward theInvestigatory Powers Bill, Sky has announced that it will be introducing its filtering system automatically for all new customers (it won’t even ask first) and will even go so far as to instigate a watershed-like system. Before 9PM, no new Sky customers will be able to access websites that are considered too racy for a PG rating.
>people still pay for sky
So you phone them up and tell them to disable it? Sky is my ISP and I have no problems with them.
It's like people live in china or something
Tell me why you started programming.
For me, I was in middle school and wondered how viruses were made. I then looked on youtube to try out batch scripting on Windows Vista. I made a program that looped the opening of command prompts and crashed the computer, and it was awesome.
>>51994539
Dammit. These 14 years olds tick me off.
>>51994539
When I was 14 I started learning programming in C++ But it didint work out then however I made my first virus .Like a year ago Ive started learning java and it is awesome for me
