You switch back to windows ;^)
Use KDE Plasma or i3
How is Arch Linux so light on RAM with a DE like Cinnamon? Only 770MiB and running Steam and Firefox. I've switched from Windows 10, and that bloated piece of spyware would hover around 2700MiB at idle.
Is all that RAM usage in Windows just for their botnet?

probly botnet and other bloat services
Windows 10 still uses code from the Windows NT days. It's shit.
RAM usage on arch is low because it's usually a minimal installation.
An "out of the box distro" installation usually tries to be usable for the majority of population, so it starts up software that you on your arch installation will never use so it's not even installed.
stuff like avahi, firewalld (which are useless on a desktop, but not having them on a laptop would be fucking annoying) cups server to name a few.
Windows is bloated.
If you ever wondered why Vista was trashed by the average consumer is because fresh installation of...

Being that the current year is almost 2016 and is 20 years after Debian started, we should look to the future and not the past. We shouldn't tolerate the project being named after a person who uses the N word, or marginalizes women who've been sexually assaulted. Debian is literally dead from an ideological; standpoint. SJW are doing to take over, and they're going to take over HARD.
>>52153239
Seeing this entire process really makes Ian's death suspicious. They could at least wait until he's buried before burying him.
Botnet aside, who makes the best chinkphone? Oppo? Meizu? Xiaomi? Huawei?
I'm finding the Redmi Note 2 and Mi4C tempting due to the specs for the price and their inclusion of an IR blaster, something I really miss from my old LG.
What do you goys have, and what of it would you recommend?

Stay away from Huawei using theri own SOC's there is no custom roms and Emui sucks.
Perhaps Xiaomi has the better communitie

Not anymore. You shouldn't be storing anything long term on an ssd anyway.
So I grabbed a DS4 today to use with my PC Gaymen and I thought I was going to have to compromise when it came to the on-screen button icons since the controller is pretty much emulating an XBOne controller.
I loaded up Shovel Knight, though, and I was surprised to see the PS icons being used.
Now, is this on a game by game basis, or is the game seeing the DS4 as a DS4? I'm confused. This used to not happen with my DS3.

Now, I'll give you that it's a lot less of a pain to get it working (as in, you don't have to install another program, even then it takes seconds), but that hassle is still worth it being that the DS4 is a better overall controller (I'm looking at you, Dpad).

Because AMD is behind so Intel is free to release new cpus with minor gains.
No reason to go to a 6700k over a 2500k unless you have a good reason, and gaming isn't a good enough reason.

which is the SHA512 hash of "password1". Is that more secure?
I used to do this.

So /g/, have you already installed the latest version of the best looking linux distro?
I would like to remember you that Deepin 15 is no longer based on Ubuntu but on Debian. They've also redone their DE and it's now based on Qt.
Enjoy the extra performance.
What about it's lag/bloat? Last time I tried it, it was like I'm back in 2000 running some SuSE Linux on a 256MB RAM P2 machine. Slow as fuck.
The detailed changes are as follows:
>Desktop environment front end uses Qt to refactor, back end still uses Go to write and communicates through d-bus
>Window manager is changed to Mutter and Metacity from Compiz, and realize the intelligent switching of window manager
>Fully realize pluggable Dock and Control Center
>Use the latest kernel of Linux 4.2.0 stable version
>Add more drivers of bluetooth, network card and sound card
>The system base is changed to Debian sid from Ubuntu.
>Initializer (int) is changed to systemd from Upstart.
>The default shell is restored to bash from Zsh.
>Basic packages upgrade: GTK+3.18.6-1, Qt 5.5.1, gcc 5.3.1
>>52155121
Deepin is not Puppy linux nor it claims to be it, but if you ask me this version has improved performance if you compare it from 2014.3, which was good anyway.
