>Tracy Chou, an engineer at Pinterest, shared this story with me: A couple years ago she attended a technical conference and on the first day, she wore a dress.
>When she walked around the conference, no one came up to talk to her.
>When she asked people very technical questions about their stack, questions she assumed would indicate that she was a programmer, she was brushed aside and told, “You wouldn’t understand.”

What did you use as your entry point? Just got a n3ds XL for chrimbus, trying to figure out my options.

not OP but browserhax should work on n3ds again, can do a secondary hax from there. plebbit is literally your best resource to find stuff right now

bueno
Tell me, /g/. Why should I write code and give it for free? It cost me:
>Time
I could have spent with my family or doing another thing that would give me money
>Knowledge
Could have spent learning other stuff)
>Energy
I was programing instead of burecratic jobs, for instance
Why should I not sell my code to the highest bidder and instead give it online to a 14yo who won't pay for it because he is a cheap fuck?
>Why should I write code and give it for free?
you shouldn't
Couldn't people just make their software cost money and include the source code with it?
>>52194691

Why should I give anyone the source code to begin with?

What the fuck is going on? A rouge update of MPC-HC? My graphic drivers had a seizure and Malwarebytes gave a false positive? I tried checking the Event Viewer but I don't see anything related...

Also what the fuck captcha.

1. Does Photoshop run in WINE well? Or am I better off getting used to GIMP?
2. On a scale from 1-10, how good is Spotify for Linux?
3. Best office software for Linux? Does Office 2010 work well with WINE?
4. Does Steam have a large selection of games for Linux? Do GoldSource games work? (ex. Half-Life)
5. Best alternative to Visual Studio?
>>52192432
Nope, Nope

None, they all suck.
Nope, Nope
If you travel down this path you're going to fucking hate Linux. Just dual-boot for now until you end up using Linux and it's open source alternatives more than proprietary applications that only run well enough for production on Windows.
1) If you want photoshop, use windows, otherwise learn gimp.
2) 10, Spotify for Linux is exactly like windows and mac
3) Use Play on Linux and you can install Office 2010, though I haven't done this myself
4) Games like TF2 and Half Life and Portal are for linux Steam, as well as some other games
5) Not sure about this one
If gaming, photoshop, or visual studio is a priority, stick with windows

Intended for users of all levels, including absolute beginners.
There are three ways to try Linux, you can:
1) Install a Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
2) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full Linux experience".
3) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with Linux (not recommended)

What's the best rebuttal to someone telling you privacy doesn't matter if you have nothing to hide?
>>52190648
I wouldn't know. I've got tons of things to hide.
I want to be able to make mistakes and be a general failure in private, and still have the façade of being a functional member of society in front of the people I care about. I don't want all the things I do to be recorded forever because most of what I do is stupid.
I guess you could make the argument that what's legal and acceptable now won't always be legal or acceptable. During the second world war, for example, left-wing communist-type people were the good guys, they went against hitler's policies, but during the cold war, people with the same alignment were put in jail because the communists were suddenly the bad guys. If everything is recorded and stored, it will be used against you in the future.

Save them? They're great why would they need saving.
They're not even in danger of going away due to consumers because the NSA and facebook and bluekai buy HDDs by the truckload.
