Linux is more stable in a VM under Windows.
Prove me wrong.
>no KVM
It's not? VM GL drivers are awful, but I have no trouble with Linux on the physical hardware I own. Maybe you just bought shit hardware.

prove you aren't a faggot
protip: you can't
So let me explain this one thing about why Linux gaming will never take off.
First of all, most Linux ports are being held back performance wise by OSX. Most devs have problems with keeping multiple OGL codepaths (4.1 support for OSX and 4.5 for GNU/Linux). If it were that easy, we'd already see a major performance difference between OSX and Linux ports.
However, once Vulkan arrives, this won't change anything. Devs will still have to write a seperate renderer for Vulkan, and this is the issue: They could have done the same with OGL 4.3 extensions (such...

Game devs should just ignore OSX, t.b.h.
The average Mac doesn't have the hardware power to play games, anyway.
Then you can still release shitty 2D indie games for all OSs, because performance optimization doesn't matter much there.
>>52188041
That is the thing they should do, but not the thing they can, they already make less money each day. However, they would sell TONS more games on Linux if performance was far better.
>muh games

Time to move /g/, is there a better one?

As a Mac user, I gotta say, Windows is pretty based when debloated.
>As a Mac user, Windows 8 / 10 is made for you. Please go back to /lgbt/.

Bu.. but i use DuckDuckGo.
What is the best smartphone i can get for $170 or less?
Probably the Lenovo K3 Note
5.5" screen
2GB Ram
8 core cpu
13mp camera
removable battery
Micro sd
iphone
That's a stupid budget. Go with $200 and you're choosing between the following mid-range top perfomers:
Moto G (3)
Asus Zenfone 2
Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3
For $170 or less, you can't get afford any of those and you're going to get a shit phone.
Why aren't you using zeon processor?
zeon processors don't exist.

That's a good reason not to own one, I guess.
Noob here, just finished installing Arch Linux on my laptop. I've never really thought about choosing which window manager I used, I always just used whatever shit I was handed. But I've decided to try other stuff. What would /g/ suggest for someone that wants semigloss title bars, and a dark look. I also want decent compatibility and performance. any advice is appreciated.
Try openbox
>>52187272
You're about to be inundated by a load of ricer fags who are going to demand that you use i3 or some other satanism.
Resist.
Openbox has by far the best functions and usability.

well meme'd
GNU/Linux edition.
for some if I use the top DVI port of my graphics card I get a fair few fps than when I use the bottom DVI port.
Why would this be?
The bottom port however is capable of driving my monitor at 120hz and the top port is only capable of 60hz.

Hey guys. I'm not "that" new to programming. However, I know it's what I want to do with my life. I want to code for a living. Coding is exciting. It's relaxing. I can kick back, watch Netflix on one monitor, and code on the other. Now I understand that I can't do that for a living like that, but it's nice to do now.
My ultimate goal, is to design games. I know, it's the typical wish. But I'm not some 12 year old who wants to copy and paste his way to the top. I'm looking to create for myself. If others like it, great....

I'd also appreciate it if you'd refrain from saying "start anywhere". I prefer a solid starting point, and I can go on my own from there. Thanks again!

Here is you're reply.
>Please wait while the font cache rebuilds
>This should take less than a minute
why
because it stores a font cache and someone working on VLC decided that should be rebuilt every once in a while
you need to be more specific if you want a less retarded answer.
>>52186961
why does it take more than a minute?
I have a good pc
