/g/ seemed the best place to ask.
I ordered this vacuum for my mom and it says it's arriving on a Sunday, besides the curries on Amazon support wouldn't know what they're talking about anyway,

What GTX 970 card should I buy?
I have an order placed for the FTW+ ACX 2.0+, but it's out of stock and I'm tired of waiting for it to ship from Newegg. So now I'm considering buying either the FTW ACX 2.0, or the SSC ACX 2.0+
Essentially the only differences are the base clock, max power draw, and cooler type.

Let's talk router software!
I have a netgear wnr1000v2, and want to run open source firmware on it. Got plenty of linux experience, but none on routers.
Anyone's got any experience with dd-wrt, openwrt, tomato or anything similar?
And: What other fun can be had running open source router firmware?
Okey, I think I've decided on openwrt — seems like the most fun. But then again, I don't have too much time fucking around with it (maybe one evening to get it up, and another one to secure it). Is it too optimistic?
I put dd-wrt (I think it was) on a couple of friends' router that was acting up on its stock firmware. It took very little time to get up and running with no prior experience, so you're definitely not being too optimistic.
>>52191701
I cringe everytime I hear dd-wrt. OpenWRT is probably much better, but I've never used it.
dd-wrt always feels so janky. Custom scripts always fuck up or run at the wrong time.
Backup thread, /g/. How do you secure your priceless data (mostly rare porn, I assume)?
I'm currently undecided between getting a Backblaze subscription ($60 / year, a little less with the sign-up bonus) or just buying an external HDD (roughly $30/TB).
Cloud:
+ unlimited size
+ safe in case of a house fire or other physical damage
+ much less likely to have a hardware failure

Will Xbox One ever function as a full Windows 10 machine with keyboard and mouse support?
Why wouldn't Microsoft want to replace the desktop PC and take all those Xbox live monies?
I want to believe.

Xbox one is pure crap
Thank god is failing and PS4 is kicking its ass so hard
Even if xbox one had win 10 it wouldn' replace deskops. Pretty sure they know this.

why not? I'd use one as a desktop

don't think it's failing friendo, yeah it's far behind in total sales but I'm sure Xbox is very profitable. Look how ridiculous Halo sales were for an average game. Xbox isn't going anywhere.

In every way, makes your coursework easier by doing more math and it is nice to put on a CV.

Looking to get a budget build as my main desktop. Main uses would be writing (lots of writing) research, web site design and some light photoshop use. Maybe a bit of video editing in the future but nothing too intensive.

The 6300 will be great for what you want.
i3 beats the 6300 in almost every office productivity metric.
Also, insanely low TDP.
