Why didn't you listen /g/?
Amazon says my package is arriving tomorrow, should I believe this?
Tomorrow is a Sunday and all.
/g/ seemed the best place to ask.
I ordered this vacuum for my mom and it says it's arriving on a Sunday, besides the curries on Amazon support wouldn't know what they're talking about anyway,
What GTX 970 card should I buy?
I have an order placed for the FTW+ ACX 2.0+, but it's out of stock and I'm tired of waiting for it to ship from Newegg. So now I'm considering buying either the FTW ACX 2.0, or the SSC ACX 2.0+
Essentially the only differences are the base clock, max power draw, and cooler type.
>Not building your own router
>How do you plead?
Let's talk router software!
I have a netgear wnr1000v2, and want to run open source firmware on it. Got plenty of linux experience, but none on routers.
Anyone's got any experience with dd-wrt, openwrt, tomato or anything similar?
And: What other fun can be had running open source router firmware?
Okey, I think I've decided on openwrt — seems like the most fun. But then again, I don't have too much time fucking around with it (maybe one evening to get it up, and another one to secure it). Is it too optimistic?
I put dd-wrt (I think it was) on a couple of friends' router that was acting up on its stock firmware. It took very little time to get up and running with no prior experience, so you're definitely not being too optimistic.
Backup thread, /g/. How do you secure your priceless data (mostly rare porn, I assume)?
I'm currently undecided between getting a Backblaze subscription ($60 / year, a little less with the sign-up bonus) or just buying an external HDD (roughly $30/TB).
+ unlimited size
+ safe in case of a house fire or other physical damage
+ much less likely to have a hardware failure
- I have to trust them when they say they can't access my encrypted data
- If I forget or lose my encryption password, I'm screwed

Will Xbox One ever function as a full Windows 10 machine with keyboard and mouse support?
Why wouldn't Microsoft want to replace the desktop PC and take all those Xbox live monies?
I want to believe.
why not? I'd use one as a desktop
don't think it's failing friendo, yeah it's far behind in total sales but I'm sure Xbox is very profitable. Look how ridiculous Halo sales were for an average game. Xbox isn't going anywhere.
implement all of the C standard library
write a scheme interpreter in scheme
invert binary trees
What's /g/'s opinion of Perl? What do you use it for?
You have 10 seconds to name a single technology invented in the last year without naming a brand name or trademark.
how is math used in computer science?
how could a CS major benefit from a minor in math?
2016 will be the year of the linux desktop.
KDE Plasma 5 is superior in every way anyway why would anyone use Mir unity ubongo shit is beyond me.
Fucking cunts fracturing away from Wayland like right cocks.
WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED
Looking to get a budget build as my main desktop. Main uses would be writing (lots of writing) research, web site design and some light photoshop use. Maybe a bit of video editing in the future but nothing too intensive.
Pic related seems to be a popular processor for poor fags. Will be future proof for at least a few years and good for my uses? Or should I save up a few hundred more sheckles for a Intel build?
i3 beats the 6300 in almost every office productivity metric.
Also, insanely low TDP.
