So I'm trying to bruteforce myself into this rar archive that I desperately need. I'm almost certain the pass can't be less than 4 characters short and 16 characters long. How fucked am I and how long will this take me? A couple of months?

4 characters shouldn't take long at all, try one of the CUDA crackers, they're much faster.

I have a pair of older freestanding speakers and they take up quite a lot of space. They are 29 inches tall and 18 inches wide. So I thought "Hey, kill two birds with one stone and make a 'bricks and boards' bookshelf out of them to save some space." I know if I crank the volume they will vibrate the shelves pretty badly but for normal listening they should be fine right? I have some junk on top of them now and it doesn't seem to hurt anything but will having them so close to books and stuff significantly effect the sound? I know the weight wont be an...

If they were a decent pair of well build speaker before, the size of the cabinet would of been tuned for the specific driver.
Volume and port sizes (size and depth) matter (look up diy speaker building/golden speaker ratio/port calculations etc)
It's quite possible they will sound like absolute shit.
Any shelf you tack on to the speakers will vibrate and muddle and muddle the sound, even the speaker itself has to be braced properly and made of particular sorts of wood.
Test it. Get a tray between them, stack up some books on it, and hear if the speakers still sound any good.

My sister and her husband are asking for suggestions on a new all-in-one computer as a replacement. They don't have really elaborate needs (Pandora, social media, scrapbooking, smallish music collection, etc.) and are looking for something cheap, compact and reliable without any frills. The only hard requirement is that if something goes wrong with it within the first year or so, they're able to get it fixed without any HP bullshit.

So I was messing around on my laptop and I took out the battery while the machine was on. The laptop then shut off so I rebooted it and Windows said something like UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME so I let the automatic repair run and to no avail it didn't work. So since I don't have anything valuable on my hard drive, I just decided to reinstall Windows. It kept getting stuck on "Setup is starting" so I just decided to run diskpart to wipe the hard drive. Diskpart didn't work so I put the hard drive in my main rig. I cannot get it to load in diskpart either....

Should I learn Java or C++, /g/?
My goal is to program Applications with a GUI, which are not too big and can be programmed alone. High Graphics are not important, speed is though. Maybe something a bit more sophisticated as the touhou-series, but capable for fluent, stable 3D. I want as least restrictions as possible. I'm already experienced in JavaScript, PHP and other Weblanguages.

Are good headphones worth it for filthy casual music listener/avid gamer? I was thinking about replacing my failing Fatality headset with one of Audiotechnica mXXx's but would it make sense when I'm going to plug it in into integrated audio card? That's kinda what I do. A good, comfortable headset is always a nice thing to have, and if you want to upgrade your audio setup, you have a good component for it already with you.
