I just bought my first smartphone (poor). Its an Android, what cool shit can i do with this? Tips tricks? apps, etc
>>52405068
Root it, xposed, titanium backup
>>52405093
What this faggot says. Use root wisely - bricking is possible. Babby's first root app is usually adblock. Also, if you want to rice the phone, look at Nova launcher.
Should I use Spotify or Google Play Music?
I fucking hate Comcast. They are nasty little thieves. I was paying 60 dollars a month for 75mbps download, they raised it to 90 bucks and put on a data cap! Data Cap in 2016! Why! I live in the Hialeah/Miami area, should I go with another ISP and if so which? I would like to pay the same that I've been paying before.
Talked to both(ATT and Comcast) Pricing is literally the same. Fuck them, should I just go with a 4G LTE hotspot?

Make bomb
Destroy building
Will show you are many serious and comcast will listen.
>Lots of threads on /g/ regarding Android smartphones
>not a single one about this new terminal emulator and (very) minimal Debian like utility installer called Termux
Go on to fdroid right now and install Termux!
Then install gcc and compile a hello world program or whatever the fuck you want to. Why isn't anyone taking any this? This takes so many steps out of getting a compiler on the phone, before you had to install a Debian chroot, no longer now
It has its own repo too, I just installed ffmpeg,...

I managed to compiled my random svg image generator using gcc
Posting randomly generated polygon pictures in a bit
>programming on a tiny screen
For what purpose
>>52404855
Surprisingly, Termux has librsvg package in the repo. I converted all randomly generated images to png using that
Plus I tried using compiling an application using gethostbyname, and it works 100%. I'll post my HTTP request spoofer's output in the next post.
This is fucking amazing
Hey /g/ what do you think about this new guy? Has anyone tryed it? It's still on alpha stage i think but it looks like it has a great future
>>52404802
It's android with intentions towards the general windows user.
Expensive. I like the look though, sort of ChromeOS + Windows 8
leave it alone and install gentoo
I need a mic with top tier sound quality, preferably cheap. Can someone help me out? I want to record vocals mainly.
>>52404741
Post a Vocaroo of you singing, anon.
>>52404762
I'd have to wait till I get home from work first. I fucked this up anyway. I was trying to post this on /mu/ but the damn clover app opened up to technology on default, and I forgot to change it.
Samson GO and the Samson meteor are nice

Why aren't you using a dead badger?
>Windows on phones having less and less marketshare every time
>Announces all the wonders of Windows 10 Mobile
>Releases 2 disgusting flagships with a clear unstable version of windows 10 mobile
Is Microsoft planning to kill Windows phones or are they that inept at making good decisions? I know W10M is stable right now, but the 950 and 950XL were sold with W10M in diapers.
Are we doomed to a world of only android/iOS
>>52404579
MS could have done awesome shit but lost its way after 7.
>>52404579
>Buying flagship devices
Why do people do this? It's like they have a PC, laptop and a functional phone, but they literally pay top dollar for something they don't need and isn't much of an upgrade.
Unless you're using a piece of shit, chances are whatever you want isn't much of an upgrade to begin with, quit spending money for no reason.
>>52404579
>Is Microsoft planning to kill Windows phones
Yes, because they're replacing it with Surface Phone.
>windows 10
>standard calculator
>asks me to rate it
god I fucked up installing this os
>>52404484

The one guy in the dev group who actually wanted to make a good OS was thrown out because he didn't take the yoga warmup seriously.
>he also wanted to call it Windows 9

At least he can form a coherent sentence.
Today upon waking up I CANNOT get my computer to power on. I press the power button and all I hear is a click echoing from the PSU and a slight buzzing noise if I hold down the power button. My red mobo LEDS which usually "breathe" in and out are now a solid red. There is also a soft intermittent screeching coming from around the power supply which gets worse whenever I try to push the power button. I try turning the PSU on and off, nothing. I then notice that my case fan LED's which are built into my cases (corsair 500r) preinstalled fans are still lit up slightly,...

Why aren't you using Fedora /g/?
Love the shit out of Fedora 23, I use it on my work laptops to program point to point systems. Love the battery life.
the packages
Give me stable distro with a non shit DE (no tiling manager), and that's fully AUR compatible, and I'll be happy.
Until then, hackintosh for me
The Personal Computer is dead. There is nothing personal about it anymore.
Discuss.
What do you mean "there's nothing personal about it anymore"?
wtf did i just read
>>52403886
They are no longer your personal machine.
You share all your data and personal info with Microsoft (Windows 10) or NSA (backdoors), or 3rd parties (Lenovo spyware). In addition, there are people who rely on cloud storage instead of personal storage (because cloud is the new "in" revolutionary thing), so the computer is more like an intermediary service station rather than a personal computer.
What your guys think?

That's just an annoying botnet.
Use flyswatter

I bet they're going to extend it.
Reminder to dump all Apple stock now that 65% of their revenue is dead.
but iPhones have always costed $200+ on contract
>>52403713
A lot of people I know (which maybe doesn't say a lot but I'm sure this is true for others as well) bought their iPhones "on-sale." Many providers near me do sales on iPhones constantly when you do a contract with an iPhone (so sub 200 pricing). I actually took advantage of one where I think I payed $50 for an iPhone when renewing my contract and ended up unlocking and selling it for full price and then buying a Nexus 6.
