I have a Dell 7737. It came with windows 8 (despite me asking for 7 which they said was impossible) anyway that was years ago. I have been using 10 for a while but want to go back to 7, only there doesnt seem to be many Win 7 drivers available on the Dell website. Is this going to be a problem? Thanks.
Also will try ubuntu or something soon ok, so inb4 install gentoo. thanks.
I am aware this may be really stupid, but wanted to see what you had to say
Display- It has onboard and a 750M which dell utility switches between. Is there a way I can just bypass the onboard to ensure its always using the 750M.
Anything ive missed apart from small things like bluetooth etc.

Is Silicon Valley comfy? Thinking of moving out of Finland/Europe when I'm done with my degree as salaries are shit here.
does /g/ like video cards?
what's better AMD or NVDIA
yes its more expensive in terms of perf / $ but you get your money back if you pay for your electricity, so unless your a kid and parents do that for you, you should always be buying and nvidia card.
Yes, we know everything is already from China but in here we discuss the no/low-name cheap shit you see on Gearbest, AliExpress, eBay and similar sites.

What's the best version of Skype? Help urgently needed as all the current versions are bloated pieces of shit.
What's the biggest hype train that will be irrelevant in two years? I'd like to say Node but it seems that it's not going away anytime soon so I'd probably say Elixir and Phoenix.
If you weren't a programming language wizard yet, would you take C and Java in the same semester? Note: I'm taking two math courses also.
Absolute technology-oblivious guy here, came here because I have an issue and I literally don't know where else to go for help. I downloaded this guitar-amp program which can be used to record your guitar if you plug it into your PC, so I did just that but for some reason my PC only seems to recognize my guitar as a speaker, at least that's what I think as all sound stops when I plug it in. Does anyone know how I can change it so that my PC actually recognizes it as a guitar instead of a speaker? Literally can't even google this cause I have no idea how to word in one sentence.
1. How does your guitar plug in? Perhaps it's in the wrong port.
2. Have you tried right-clicking the speaker icon, and clicking on either "Playback devices" or "Recording devices". This window gives you a better overview of input/output devices to manage.
I'm looking for a new monitor, and I'm stuck between the Dell U2414H and the AOC I2476VW.
I live in a east yuropoor country, and the price difference is huge, the Dell is twice as much as the AOC
The Dell is really nice looking and it's been on my wishlist for some time now, but for the price difference I don't really care that much about looks.
So, if someone has experience with both, please help me out, thanks
You'll always wish you bought the nicer thing when you go cheap
You'll always second guess yourself when you go expensive.
You'll have buyers remorse no matter what, just ask yourself which one is worse
What things the world enjoys today should we need to thank Stallman for?
The tools needed to build the world's most used OS kernel.
The philosophy that, although partially retarded, started a movement that brought good Open Source software to the public.
That's about it
Shit tech thread
Even if technology in general has come a long way, there is still some specific areas that seems to lag behind.
The two contestant today are:
Printers vs routers
Inkjet can go and die in a fire
Laser works when you actually decide to use it (I barely use my one at home) and now with Windows and *buntu drivers aren't that much of a hassle
Routers are shit unless you fork out for something that has a *wrt base, then they're dreams. Asus's RT-AC line is good
Printers have got this one in the bag desu
no thread in the catalog, so
r8 and b8 away
I hope you're rendering or encoding or something cause that xeon with a GTX 970 will work for gaming, but the single core performance is so lacking that even an i3 with likely perform better in most games because of the higher core clock.
you would be surprised, i had a skylake rig (6700k) and in almost every game i play they are within 5 fps of each other on ultra. I usually only play gta v and overwatch, but this was definitely worth the 400 bucks i spent on it
also bruh that nvidia is overheating to all hell
got a second 960gb ssd, 1080 ftw and ek predator 240 to replace my shit noctua air cooler being shipped right now.
i hate the waiting game
