Why is consumer Ethernet stuck at 1 Gigabit?
Why are 10 Gigabit Ethernet adapters and switches still so goddamn expensive?
>>52466058
Because the vast majority of consumers don't need anything faster than gigabit and even those that have gigabit hardly ever actually use gigabit speeds or even have gigabit internet connections.
>>52466058
Because normies don't use home networks that much, so as long as it's faster than the internet speed, it's good enough.
Normies also moved to mostly wireless.
You don't need 10 Gigabit to stream YIFY encodes from your NAS.
Everyone doubts of their laptops cameras, whether disabling them on bios actually prevents the OS from accesing it is something we cant know.
>inb4 they have leds
And yet the some OSes still see them after disabling them in BIOS. Some go as far as physically disconeting them in addition to black tape. But if people are worried about something relatively in your control why do I never see concerns over tightly locked devices like phones?
So should I tape my phones front camera or is that going too far?
>not taking apart your phone and desoldering the whole front camera module from the mainboard
How hard do you want me to SHIGGY in 2016?
I share this concern
I destroyed the webcam in my laptop and put tape inside the hole
But i havent done anything to my phone

how much of your electric bill do you think comes from your PC? I have a 80 Bronze Plus 650 power supply, 24inch LED monitor.
Do you think phantom power on your laptop charger uses as much juice as your refrigerator?
>>52465675
Phantom power on a charger? I just know of this as in mics and pre-amps.

In the theoretical case that AMD does go bankrupt, what happens to the AMD64 license?
Can intel easily take that license from AMD's cold dead hands or can AMD fuck intel's shit up and permanently force intel to stop manufacturing all 64-bit processors by revoking their license?
AMD made the first POPULAR desktop 64 bit, intel already has one but its for itanium.
Intel uses x86 processors with 64 bit architecture. AMD doesn't own 64 bits. They own the AMD64 architecture. Intel is x86_64
Huh, so that's why Intel is going easy on amd.
