I'll stick with my Lenovo ThinkCentre M58 desktop tower running Windows 10.

Is Winblows only ATM. Should die before it takes off.
I'd be curious to see how well this would perform with Chakra.

Uh, so? Competition is a good thing.
Considering USB 3.0 availability and large Thumb Drives, I am considering going usb boot only but I want to hear your opinion, my computer usage is mostly spread sheet, baby's first programming, music, lurking and 1080p movies, zero gaymen.
>>52519403
Simple answer, no.
Long answer, read/limitations, reliability, and you would need a pile of drives.

Microsoft is cancer. Are they ever going to fix their shitty program?

When will Microshit stop toying with us?

Don't expect anything good to come from Microsoft.
You forgot how piss-poor Skype's performance is, how disk usage surges when you launch it, how slow it is to load past convos from disk, how much it lacks in customisation options and so on.
I realise that there might be some people who are shilling some skype competitor apps here, but skype still sucks.

This is what they are working on.
/g/ help I just got a notice from my boss that I am to "cease use of your keyboard immediately as it is offending other employees" otherwise I will have a strike against my employment (3 strikes and you are fired). Is this legal or? FYI I am using a filco mechanical keyboard at work as I find it ergonomic and generally prefer mechanical keyboards for writing on.
Did you sign a contract?
If no, they can fire you for whatever reason they want so long as that reason isn't something out of your control, like genetics or disabilities.
Also, you knew exactly what you were getting into when you bought a loud keyboard with loud switches to be "that guy".
Why the fuck would you use a keyboard with blues at work?
>>52519084
Can't you just take the strike and keep using your loud autismboard?
what went wrong?

months old bait, fuck off
>>52518922
I don't see an issue here.

It's not bait. It's just a fucking fact.
How much could I sell this thing for?

How much do you want for it?

205 bucks
$350 plus monitor

I liked my 3.5G more.
Its not a bad mouse, but Synapse is horrible. I'd buy a 3.5G instead. Its cheaper, imo it was better and you can use the old drivers.

Had it for about a year now and I'm honestly loving it. Great for gaming and for browsing. The side buttons are re programmable and are really responsive. Barely any wear on mine. Only complaint is that the side rubber grips grease really easy and become slippery so I would recommend wiping any grease or shit off your hands before use! Other than that 9/10 would buy again...

There are four ways to try Linux, you can:
1) Install a Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
2) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full Linux experience".
3) Dual-boot Linux with Windows/Mac (recommended if you want to learn more about Linux)
4) Go balls deep and overwrite...

Just saying Linux gets comfy after you set up everything you need.
Randomly my keybinds will revert from KP_ to home number row mods.
Setup to be
Mouse button 1= KP_1
Mouse button 2- KP_2
But randomly it changes
Mouse button 1 = !
Mouse button 2 = @
Changes happen during the same user session at random intervals between those settings.
Mouse configured as followsremote_id=$(

Can anything really even compete to the Logitech MX line? I've had the mx performance since it came out in 2009 and its still chugging like a champ. Some cosmetic hits over time but that's expected.
Gaming mouses are snake oil.
I use a 4 euro 5+ years old mouse that i never cleaned and it never had me any problems.
>>52518655
I liked my performance mx but the left button stopped working right after a few years, got them to send me another for free despite the warranty being dead. Used that 3 or so more years and it still works but its pretty worn and the battery is getting pretty bad.
Got a Master to replace it which was great, but then saw those new elecom trackballs and bought one like 2 weeks later. Been using that now, but honestly probably like the master better.
Should take the trackball to work work or use it for my laptop.
I like my naga purely bc muh buttons. Honestly, I like them for my gaymes. I've considered getting the Logitech equivalent once the Razer inevitably craps out but I don't knew if its even any good.

Hey /g/, should I continue to upgrade my PC parts or buy/build a new one altogether? Currently i am not really having any problems with my PC. I can run graphics heavy game like Arma 3 on high (not ultra) and get ~35-40 fps. My concern is that my PC is somewhere around 6 years old and currently running Vista which seems to be on the borderline of a minimum requirement OS. Is it possible to theoretically keep a pc forever by just upgrading part by part? The next thing i want to upgrade is my GPU but im hoping i wont have any bottleneck issues in the near future.

If you have to ask, then you don't need to upgrade.
You're gaymer so the R9 390 isn't a bad choice.
But if you were more of a power-user with workstation interests, I would go for a mobo+processor re-haul first. An FX-8350+970chipset is dirt cheap nowadays; and would double your core-count.

these are the only issues I could see
other than this your system should be fine
only issue is with upgrading the CPU, you'd need a newer board with an AM3+/LGA 2011 socket
According to their issue tracker, qBittorrent 3.3.2 is a piece of shit that crashes like a madcunt.
https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues
Daily reminder never to listen to /g/ because they recommend open source software even if its a buggy piece of shit.
Stay with uTorrent 2.2.1, which doesn't crash at all.
anyone else uses halite?
>>52518448
Works fine here friendo
Give me one reason to stop using just werking utorrent 2.2.1.
I mean there's no way this benchmark is correct. The 5830k got the same overall score as the fx8350 on this site...
8350 is way stronger
>>52518534
>>52518435
Price is factored into the "overall score" so of course a $1000 CPU is going to suffer in terms of score.

I'm in the process of converting a stock Debian installation into a Kali by adding the relevant apt repos and installing the relevant packages. While that goes, I figured I'd open up a general discussion of Kali Linux (and its predecessor, BackTrack). Post your favorite packages, tools, tips/tricks etc.
Keep it kosher please, I don't want to hear about what you did behind 7 proxies back in the day.
>converting a stock debian installation into a kali
