CVE-2016-0728
Linux bug imperils tens of millions of PCs, servers, and Android phones
Vulnerability allows restricted users and apps to gain unfettered root access.
For almost three years, millions of servers and smaller devices running Linux have been vulnerable to attacks that allow an unprivileged app or user to gain nearly unfettered root access. Major Linux distributors are expected to fix the privilege escalation bug this week, but the difficulty of releasing updates for Android handsets and embedded devices means many people may remain susceptible for...

The Perception Point Research team has identified a 0-day local privilege escalation vulnerability in the Linux kernel. While the vulnerability has existed since 2012, our team discovered the vulnerability only recently, disclosed the details to the Kernel security team, and later developed a proof-of-concept exploit. As of the date of disclosure, this vulnerability has implications for approximately tens of millions of Linux PCs and servers, and 66 percent of all Android devices (phones/tablets). While neither us nor the Kernel security team have observed any exploit targeting this vulnerability in the wild, we recommend that security teams examine potentially affected devices and implement patches as soon as possible.

I'm going to renovate a cabin in some innawoods -tier land over the summer and I wanted to build a couple of motion sensor cameras (crackheads, dindus, bears, etc). Should I use a Raspberry Pi, an Arduino, or is there some kind of fancy new piece of tech I haven't heard of yet.

Keep in mind, the NSA hires more mathematicians than any other firm in the united states.
So they probably hire the most in the world.
NSA always seems 5 steps ahead of everyone else for some reason, this shit creeps me out.

Why do you have a Nexus 6P when it bends?
Dude, it's 2016! This is not a year for bending phones.

Because I'm not a retard who intentionally bends a phone that I spent several hundred dollars on

Sup /g/, Im kinda looking for advice at the moment. I'm a 19 y/o community college student (bc poor) who studying computer science. I'm three semesters from graduating with my degree before I transfer to Virginia tech to obtain my bachelors degree. But over the past year (and this might be because my school and its teachers suck idk) I've kinda noticed that what I'm studying is pretty boring to me. I haven't exactly run accross anything yet pertaining to my field of study that has clicked with me that I can say "I absolutely am comfortable doing this for a career." I have a friend who's also studying computer science who's been telling me that there are basicly only two major paths to take that would pay the highest: cyber security/network security and programming. I've taken a C++ class that I didnt find to be all that interesting but I havent taken anything relating to security. Could anyone give me some advice on why sticking with my major is most beneficial and what other options I might have in it?
Lemme
Guess you go to NOVA don't you
I guess it all comes down to this. Are you more of a hands on physical guy? Then networking, if not then programming. Also there's more to programming than C++. Try python imo, it's fairly easy to learn and you can get to actually programming stuff faster.

Not even close. Its a small country town at the very bottom of Virginia called martinsville
Can't get a definitive answer on this. If I'm going for an external soundcard is this a decent model?

Going external because my mobo onboard is
noisy and has interference problems. Setup will be Hyper X Cloud II headset > Y splitter for mic and headphone pink and green jacks > sound card > usb to PC
The little DAC the headset...

Haven't done a lot of research but I saw Linus shilling Schiit stacks. Assumed they're probably expensive.
