Why does /g/ love the ThinkPad so much?
I have never used one. Just asking.
Linux has fantastic Thinkpad support.
>>52577489
It's the most practical laptop a man could own
Btw, your pic related is not an actual thinkpad. I don't recommend buying that
>>52577489
>better keyboards than most other laptops
doesn't feel as good as a Model M or anything, but it's much nicer to type on (and easier to type accurately on) than typical chiclet boards. The ones on Macs are especially awful and I don't know how people stand them.
>repairability
You can just go and download a complete teardown guide that tells you how to remove any piece of the thing and reassemble it afterwards. It's fairly...

What are you working on, /g/?
Looking for C compilers on Windows, I'm done with MinGW's bullshit. Do I really have to work on a VM?
Second for type inference.
Third for promoting D while having never used it

>"We migrated key functions from Windows to Linux because we needed an OS that was stable and reliable -..."
Linux is a kernel, it's not an OS
What they are using is GNU userland + the Linux kernel, which is short for GNU/Linux
>>52577471
I sure hope they aren't using GNU in space.
Do you believe the technology is ready for this kind of development?

>technology is ready
There is one decisive question about posiibility of this: isn't it haram? Damn you optimistic one.
>>52576513
well the tech is here now. What we're lacking is any reason to keep sending humans into space. There isn't a scientific one (unmanned probes are better at that) and there isn't an economic one (even for very rare things it's an order of magnitude cheaper to mine them on earth than from an asteroid)
so we could do it but it's pretty pointless
>>52576513
Tech has been ready since 60s. Our bodies are not and lack of economic profit is why we dont have moon bases yet.
What kind of mouse does /g/ use.
I use the Logitech g502

Should a plane explode itself before it crashes into a building?
>>52575954
If a crash can't be avoided, the car should always aim to protect it's passengers.
If I'm paying thousands of dollars for a car, it better not try and kill me.

Jeez, what could some of these phones possibly be using 6-8 gigs for? That's like a full install of Windows.
>>52575430
well you have to install ubuntu, nsa-2016-edition, and then the unity app that acts as your phone dialer.......

how long until terrorists can easily afford a self-driving car to carbomb?
What's stopping them from putting a brick on the gas pedal and aiming?
>>52574116
Who cares if it's a self-driving car or a flying drone or just a car.
The bombs are the problem, delivering them somewhere isn't a huge one. They could be using handcarts or rikshas with a bomb, and people would still die.
