Name a single home NAS solution better than this
Protip: you can't
so 500$ for a piece of plastic with a lan and usb port which I can put 4 hdds into
wow what a deal
all of these solutions are shit when it comes to pricing aren't they ?
>>53311532
not really when you factor in how retarded most people are. . .
but in general they kind of suck unless you go for the prosumer/small business level stuff and you can easily build something cheaper and have more options when it comes to hardware and overall capacity(at the cost of space efficiency)
>>53311470
eh, you'd be better suited building a low power sff box in a node 304 or something for a comparable price.
Even the shittiest pentium or APU is going to get you more throughput and performance that that thing.
I'm looking for something lightweight, long duration battery, good manufacturing quality and a good screen.
Is it possible for around 1k € ??
nope
>>53310076
/g/ should know better on this field.
Now that MS is very obviously going full walled garden even normies are starting to notice it.
How do we make Linux community come together and start preparing major Linux distros to become something that normies coming from Windows can call good alternative?
We don't. We must protect linux from the normies.
It needs to just. I don't mean "it's easy to get working" I mean works out of the box with ZERO changes. The way the Acer netbooks had Ubuntu Netbook Edition. Ubuntu is the de facto distro for casuals.

Is this chode still the best choice for a browser box for my parents? Worried about the anus GPU it comes with for bluray playback.
>>53309366
If you're concerned about the performance of the iGPU for high res playback, just grab an A6 APU or something alone those lines. The iGPU in those is plenty, even with slower RAM (Though really, the difference in price between 1300Mhz kit and 2133Mhz kit is all of $5).
That G3258 is good enough for office work and light browsing, but as your have stated in your concerns, the iGPU is lacking so it's limited in what it can do as a media box.
>>53309366
My mother's web-browsing and office computer is running on an Athlon XP 2600+ and it works perfectly fine, so I'd say you'll be good.
Yes it's perfectly fine for 1080p video playback.
I was using Windows and and this hacker basically shattered my digital life and is chasing me no matter what I do.
Summary
>he recorded my strokes and had access to my webcam and froze my computer using svchost.exe attack (using all resources), hacked my Wi-Fi router somehow and led me to a fake site when I was browsing on my phone and making me download a RAT trojan .apk file (i didn;t install it) etc.
Someone here recommended installing Linux so I installed Ubuntu wiping out the whole Windows and now I am able to use my computer but I know he's out there somewhere waiting for me to expose one vulnerability so that he can break in.
I am considering going full Android (preferably stock from Google) as below
>1. an Android phone for everyday life
>2. an Android tablet for moving around
>3. a high-end Android tablet with adjusted DPI to get more content on its screen connected to a monitor through HDMI for working at home
>4. a Windows laptop to run Windows-only programs. (I won't store any password on it and I can access it on my tablet through Splashtop.)
Or I am considering going full Ubuntu as below
>1. an Android phone for everyday life
>2. a portable laptop running Ubuntu for moving around
>3. a large laptop running Ubuntu for working at home
>4. Using Wine to run Windows-only programs on Ubuntu
I want to choose the setup that is infinitesimally more secure because as you can see I am not tech-savvy and won't have time to go tech-savvy anytime soon.

Can somebody explain to me how the fuck it was possible that the "muh 3.5gb" issue of gtx 970 got revealed after a fucking HALF OF A YEAR after it's debut?
>>53309000
With a new product, people do not know what performance to expect, any drops they see they usually put down to immature drivers. And, ironically enough, no one expects a company like nVidia to lie to it's customers and investors.
Only once people star to mod games do they then pay attention to how much vRAM is being used should there be significant stuttering. And only then, a handful of people will ever notice a trend and investigate further.
>>53309000
I had GTX 970 from MSI. That card would not be bad if they left it with 3GB or 3.5GB of VRAM, but thanks to the way that memory is split it will start shitting itself once it reaches 3.3GB +/-.
Its defective product that loses performance once you reach certain amount of VRAM and they will not lock it to 3.5GB because that would mean massive law suit incomming. Just stay away from that card and pick 390/390x or 980

More importantly why is it so hard to implement vertical positioning?
because most people don't use headphones for gaming and justifying it is annoying

Who is /preorder/ squad?
Edge or regular?
I can't fucking wait till the 11th, and T-Mobile cucks are already getting theirs, any hope for Sprint?
I got black edge. I have been using cheap $100 phones all my life and his is a first for me, so fucking excited. Why isn't this piece of technology being discusses, Android IS Linux, you know.

why don't you weebs discuss current tech? The only current tech I see is /gut/ threads with pimped out computers.
I'm so hype I can't even. Preordered mine for the free VR. I played with an edge today in a Rogers store and augh its so fine. Coming from an S6, it feels definitely like an upgrade. I'm happy I didn't do the S7. It's nice but strangely diminutive.

Long story short, i was the single quietest 380X/970/980 i can find. The quietest fans and the least reports of coil whine.
Does anyone know what i'm looking for?
>>53304908

Probably not what you're looking for, but I have a fan less gtx 750 and it's amazing.
>>53304943
Nah need more power is the problem.
I just want to max everything out at 1080p while making the least noise.
