Sort of
NT 6.0 was objectively a good kernel (they still use it, skipping from 6.x to 10.0 for Windows 10 is just for marketing reasons), but the user-land was rushed and people who were used to absolutely no security at all were surprised by the sudden introduction of UAC (even though UAC is a good thing).

Vista had the comfiest ui in my experience but later versions of windows, despite offering superior performance, were also released in times when more powerful hardware was available, making them look better than vista did on launch.
bloated and slow as fuark
/g/, this is getting out of hand.
They've blocked VPNs on wifi a few months ago, and now they're down on the LAN too.
For safety reasons i don't put any open ports of my server to the internet, only a VPN so that i need to authenticate to see other ports, so i'm basically locked out now.
How do i stop this literal cancer?
Google works until i click any results, then pic related happens.
Yes, i google unblock torrents, because that would most likely be answered and can be used to establish some connection to my VPN.
I prefer rekking the whole thing over using a VPN, i've had it with these cunts.

You should not have GPLv3 in your system
since Linus hates it as it is anti-freedom
GPLv2, MIT, BSD, etc., are fine

Somebody know how turn off that muslim symbol at a keyboard Compaq SK-2800?
That fucking little green light is very annoying.
It's a moon symbol.

Open the keyboard case from the back and take the led out.

How good at math do you have to be to do python and java
it depends on the domain. intrinsically, you just need to be able to handle reasoning

I'm in the market for a new printer and was wondering what printes /g/ uses. I was going to get the officejet 6812 in the pic until I read the bad reviews on amazon. A few things I'm looking for is wireless, economical and linux compatibility.
>>53479305
I was into the hp printer because of their XL cartridges. Probably won't be doing a lot of printing but it'd be nice to know I wouldn't be running out of ink so quickly.
I just buy a new Epson printer for 40 bucks everytime it runs out of ink.
Cheaper that way.
>>53479354
About right too. Why the fuck is ink so damn expensive anyways?
Who else here is enjoying the Kingston SSD experience? It lack of TRIM support is great, but my favourite is the firmware update that erased the drive.
>tfw you fell for the SSD meme
How your server looks when you join the Kingston master race.
>>53478941
I used to have my OS on a Kingston SSD, but got bored of the drive needing like 8 secs "extra HDD wait time" or whatever set in the BIOS settings; it wouldn't be detected at boot time otherwise.
What phone does /g/ rock these days? im 19 and i had a nexus 6 w sprint. last weekend my parents switched to at&t and i thought all the phones in there were shit so i kept my nexus 6 and the data speeds (where I am) tripled almost everywhere. why do phone stores now only sell shit mainstream phones with shitty android skins? Not to mention none of their phone screens are as big as mine. ive had htc inspire, samsung gs2 galaxy nexus blackberry torch 9800 iphone 3gs lg g2 and the nexus 6 is by far my favorite. my only phone that i havent rooted yet? anyone here have a rooted nexus 6?

I'm using a gen 1 Moto G. It sucks not having a sd, and for some reason it hasn't updated past android 4.4.3
i used to browse xda daily and try all the new roms on my inspire and s2 mostly. my favorites are the cm nightlys.
>DirectX 12 will also feature support for vendor agnostic multi-GPU setups
Ok, whats the catch? This cant be without its disadvantages
>>53478807
it'll only work on Windows 10... probably
>>53478807
Latency will be the only problem.
Also bottlenecks in small stuff if you are using different cards.
>>53478807
Likely, it won't be for GTX Titan + R9 Fury X combos, really. It'll be for letting your Processor's IGP take care of accelerated video decoding, so you don't gotta waste energy getting that GTX 980ti all butt-bothered with the job, rather, it can do the Gayman later.
Or, we'll see it as a way to take advantage of eGPUs in things like Laptops more easily. Rather than only letting them do external video output, they can use the same framebuffer as the IGP in the laptop uses to dump...
