I'm in the market for a new router.
However, The government has been intercepting internet hardware in the mail and implanting hardware that gives them a backdoor to the equipment.

Which router should I buy that will actually be private? Which routers are actually sucure these days?
Which brand names should I avoid?
>>53560413
Are you Glenn Greenwald or in any doing something that would make you a target?
No?
Then don't fucking worry about it. They don't have factories set up to perform this. They do it for targeted companies and individuals.
>>53560413
>not building your own
You were cucked from the start anon
>>53560427
>They don't have factories set up to perform this.
um, yes they do.
>2016
>mpv still hasn't become the default GNU/Linux media player
What went wrong?
what do you mean by default? if you mean the most popular, then obviously because it's not as normie-friendly as vlc
>falling for the mpv meme
>>53560429
>i don't like it so it's a meme
:^)
>>53560097
does this guy really respond to every email he recieves?
I am gonna email him and ask him to come speak at my college
awaiting response.....:^)
/g/, /pol/ is completely retarded. someone needs to go over there right now and explain how google works
>/pol/ won't stop posting the same meme all week
>someone types the first part of it in google
>"W-WHA GOOGLE KNOWS MEMES!"
I've tried explaining that google takes into account that your IP is on both 4chan and google servers, so the only reason why everyone in the thread sees the same search result is because they're all in the same search...

Quick /g/!
Gimme something I can write in C in half an hour to put in my new Github
game of life
Write an emulator for some 8 bit CPU or maybe even a whole computer/console from the 80s.
It's more than half an hour but in my experience people notice that the most often. And it's not that hard.
>>53559663

What happened to parallel buses 13 years ago is happening to x86 now. Just like parallel buses hit a wall and serial ones eventually caught up, RISC CPU architectures like MIPS and ARM are catching up with x86 now and will soon supplant it.
somewhere in the distant future
>>53559389
If by distant you mean a couple of years, yeah.
I already don't have a single x86 device, and some of my SMB customers don't either.
>>53559379
Risc isn't what made arm popular, it was their high power efficiency, which was made possible by risc.
The problem is, to develop compute power parity with x86 on risc requires much higher clock speeds, more complex pipelines and branch prediction, and when you add all these things, you end up with a processor no more advantageous than x86.
Risc is great at low power, low compute applications, but it does not scale to modern high performance desktop or server compute and remain competitive

>inb4 it's fake
she deleted it, you fucking mongs
this was very real
Fuck yeah let's multiply the amount of garbage produced by mentally dislocated people by 4!
this is fake
and probably gay misogynist propaganda
>"lol anon don't install windows 10 it has telemetry lol don't you know it's a botnet"
>"lol install linux instead it has telemetry but it's not a botnet"
literally autism
>>53559128
How bad is Chrome OS compared to Win10 in telemetry? If it's an issue, then I might install Linux on a Chromebook.
Microsoft gives you a choice.
What did they mean by this?
>>53559000
They meant that the program they make "Microsoft SQL Server", which was previously exclusive to windows, is now available for linux.
>>53559059
Well, it was based on Sybase's SQL server anyway, so porting it probably required next to nothing.

Why the fuck would anyone use that shit over PostgreSQL?
Did any of you have a zip drive back when they were popular? What was your experience with them like, are they really as unreliable as their reputation suggests?
>>53558801
I had a SCSI Zip drive that I used with a PowerBook. I can't remember a single failure or bad disk.
Shut up retard, that's a floppy drive
pic related is a zip drive
>>53558924
no thats a usb

Uneducated member of Judaism, or just a gaymer faggot
If you really need dual gpu, get radeon pro, sli as well as gsync and every other hardware related stuff from nvidia is inferior and more expensive than amd's equivalent

Put the Motherboard on there as a last minute placeholder, won't be buying Processor, Motherboard, or GPU until May at the earliest.
Any and all advice is appreciated. Is it safe to daisy chain the exhaust fan with a fan for the bottom half of the case?

This Novell jacket was just given to me. I looked it up and couldn't find any other ones, so I thought I'd post it here. Post whatever tech related clothing you have.
I have a Sun Microsystems t-shirt ($8 on ebay)
the 'thank you for calling IT' computer janitor uniform: polo top and beige slacks
whereas at home it's 'no i will not install your printer' black t-shirts, or anime death metal silkscreened shirts
This is autistic beyond reasonable levels
