I tried dual booting windows with manjaro and ran into many problems. The first: mouse doesn't work. I mean I can move it and hover over things and it will show me info on them but I cannot click.
I had to use my keyboard to navigate to everything and now after 20 minutes trying to install it, it's stuck on 23% which is the unpackfs.
Anyone know if what to do? Should I just leave it? I installed it on my laptop and it took about 5 minutes. But I have now waited almost half an hour and it's stuck.
Help please /g/
why bother with linux when you have windows? there's nothing you can do on linux that you can't do better on windows.
you fell for the linux meme bro
>>/flt/
try downloading the latest iso directly from manjaro and make another bootable usb with it, then try it again.
What are the best VPN's?

Anyone here use BSD for daily desktop usage? I'm testing it out in a VM right now, but want to here input from actual users.
BSD for desktop is about the same as using Windows for servers.
Don't bother unless you really, really want to prove something.
>>53576502
>OpenBSD
>desktop
why?
OpenBSD is fine for laptops since the group "eats its own dogfood" basically it just means configuring apmd. You just have to be patient with OpenBSD devs to support the latest hardware. By patient I mean they are usually two generations behind cpu's.
Hi Tech,
so I am moving into a new house, I have been trying to steal some wifi
I've used a long range antenna and can get a stable connection from the local library on my windows 10 laptop
What I want to do is route the connection through a router so I have wifi throughout my house for all my other devices
Is there any way to do this? Or am I stuck with one connection on my laptop?
Thanks for any answers bros
Buy a router and set it up as a repeater. Buy one with a detatchable antenna. The wr841nd is good and has openwrt support.
first answer best answer

you will never get the quality of service equal to a paid connection, because your latency will be high. I do this and playing cs go competitive matches on it sucks ass, it's hard to get good ping this way. But for things like torrenting it should be good enough for u good luck
Alright guys I've been looking for a bluetooth speaker to use for the upcoming summer that will be used at outdoor parties, fotball matches etc.
My current choices are JBL Xtreme and the JBL Pulse 2. I mostly care about sound since it needs to be loud but the Pulse 2 has some cool features too plus it's a bit cheaper, any help?

cant you just be like every other redneck sports fan and open your car doors and just blast music that way?
>>53576479
>he thinks I'm an uneducated fat american
I'm european and soccer=fotball here and I don't mean going to matches we just play against each other for fun.
>>53576479
Also it needs to be portable because most places aren't accessible with cars.
Anons who are RUNNING WINDOWS 10 and have TAKEN ACTION to turning off updates/'botnet': how are you liking the OS?
No trolls allowed: if it gets out of hand im gonna make you fuckers post your specs as proof.
I want a DEFINITIVE up-to-date answer as to whether win10 runs well or not, not just from cucx running a 2001 version of linux
>>53576304
I opted for linux after I installed Win 10. Windows kept freezing and the forced updates overwhelmed by bandwidth. Linux just werks for me.
>>53576304
It's not much better than 7, which is actually Vista SP3. 10 is just Vista SP6 with native virtual desktop management thrown in along with metro fuckery. It's not like going from windows 3.1 to 95, or XP to Vista.
The only real advantage 10 has over 7 is WDDM 2.0.

Windows 10 raped my daughter and stole my wallet. Would not recommend.
Is this bullshit as overhyped (exactly like 3d printing) as I think it is?
>>53576008
how is 3d overhyped? designer here who uses 3d printing everyday, it's really a great way to present progress to boss etc.

This

It has its uses but not for the consumer to buy home

it's a waste of money. almost all these VR techs will fail.
How fast you type?
I average 60 WPM max 100
>>53575761
80 to 120 WPM, depending on what I'm typing.
Used to do 100-120wpm, but ever since I started using smartphones more often, it's dropped to about 60-80.
I'm 125 on a good day, average around 115

why do you care if people are using outdated technology?
serious question
Gamers like to blame being bad on latency instead of getting good.

Less display lag
480p content look good on them.
Hey so last night my dumbass of a roommate spilled beer all over my keyboard, everything was fried, no chance of fixing it. He said he would pay for a replacement so I'm ordering a new keyboard tonight. What would you guys recommend?
Preferably I would like a mechanical keyboard with audio controls, detachable keys (cherry reds), and that's about it. I haven't needed to buy any new hardware in awhile so I'm not sure what is really good anymore. My corsair vengeance (pic related) was great and lasted 4 years before moron broke it. I'm considering...

K65 RGB.
Cooler master quickfire rapid with MX browns
I'm not biased at all :)
A replacement implies same keyboard that was damaged.
How do I debotnet windows 10 /g/ ?
>inb4 install linux ( I already have)
Only use the Win10 PC offline, download files with the GNU+Linux PC and transfer via USB drives
>>53575272
I am running it in virtualbox and I have turned off / uninstalled everything that resembled botnet or bloat
don't connect it to any network
Why does everyone, including the manufacturers themselves, advocate for an inefficient method of applying thermal paste?
>>53575071
Because broken cpu = more money for intel/amd
to get you to buy more thermal paste
it's not about what works best it's about what works but how can we get the consumer to buy more
at the crux of it they're trying to sell you more stuff, some of which is snake oil, some of which isn't.
Heat distribution is more efficient when the whole processor is covered. Basic physics.
Can we get a confirmed botnet thread going? This is what I have off the top of my head:
>Windows 7,8,8.1,10
>Chrome
>Android + any android app
>Samsung anything
>Chinese anything
>Amazon hardware
>Linux Mint
>Ubuntu
>Any PC laptop

Apple anything
first you should define botnet, because proprietary software != botnet, and I'm pretty sure you have the two confused
