"You walk into the server room and see a person lying on the floor with a live electrical wire draped over. What should you do first?"
A. Run out and call 911.
B. Grab the wire and fling it off the person.
C. Grab the person and drag them out from under the wire.
D. Grab a piece of wood and use it to move the wire off the person.
The correct answer is D.
What the fuck. Why...

>Why would you try to remove the live wire off someone?
Because it will stop them from potentially dieing?
>Why would there be a piece of wood in a server room?
You've clearly never worked in a DC or any field related to IT
>Why would you not just call 911 as soon as fucking possible?
Because most likely the person will be dead or seriously injured before help arrives and there's a good chance the current leakage device will trip at some point and may take out your phone service(wireless phone, cell thats operating from an on premise repeater, shittely designed phone system).
B or D are both acceptable answers, server rooms carry voltages from 110 to 450v, neither of these are dangerous unless you come into direct contact with a conductor, the insulation can easily be grabbed, using a stick is better since if you trip over in the chaos you are less likely to make contact with the person.
Go take an OHS course before you get someone killed. Absolute mad man.
This fucker is being electrocuted in front of you and instead of help them you'll let them fry for 20 min so someone else can use the wood. Top tier m8

Literally EVERY HR department in the world would argue to answer A. You know it, I know it. Don't be a faggot, fight against your nature of being the biggest faggot you can be.
What's your opinion of the new VR headsets /g/?
Only Sony VR will be (somewhat) successful.
>>53594520
gaming Vr is bullshit:
-you can't play for too long because you'll be exhausted in no time
-too fucking slow, the skill cap will be pretty low because you're limited by your body more than playing with the mouse + keyboard combo.
I really don't see any good point, even immersion is almost inexistant, I tried it a few time
never felt amazed.
On another point, the sony one may be the most interesting if they really release a more powerful ps4 this summer.
>>53594919
Your statement doesn't sound very educated, might I ask you which headset(s) you tried?
Let me get a few things straight:
- VR isn't good for multiplayer FPS. Hoover Junkers will probably be fun, but I don't see deep competitive elements there. Competitive FPS games will still be played at 2d for a pretty long time.
- VR will be strong in creative, exploration and simulation like games and probably a few things we haven't even thought about yet.
- PSRV is crap even if they release...

What are decent laptop brands? Pretty sure Dell is shit and Asus is top (in my experience) but I'm trying to find a laptop for preferably under $600, and so far the best I've found is some Toshiba from Staples.
Used thinkpads are some the best bang for your buck tbqhwyf
>>53594411
Toshiba is shit, Asus is decent (but the quality started to decline recently), Lenovo is good enough, can't say anything about Acer, HP is good only if you want to spend more money for the higher end class (same applies to Dell).
In conclusion get a Thinkpad or a Clevo/Sager/XMG/Eurocom laptop.

I have 2 external hard drives. I want to make a clone backup of drive 1 (D:) on drive 2 (E:). What is the best free Windows program to do this? Preferably with backup scheduling.
SyncBack Free
>>53594405
Thanks, seems like a decent program. Only problem is the backup will copy new/changed files from drive 1 to drive 2, but if I remove some files from drive 1 between syncs, the next time I sync the removed files are not removed from drive 2. i.e., it only adds files to the backup drive 2, it doesn't take them away. So it can quickly be cluttered. Any way around this?

If you use Windows at all online then you should have antivirus.

This shit will change the world as you know it for the better.
It's basically the first step to the future with robots.
As opposed to Google's, Microsoft's, Amazon's and Apple's attempt at making machine appear intelligent, this one will be the first one that will actually be able to receive skills and knowledge.
This will be the key factor. More people start using it, more things it will be able to do, and then even more people start using it.
Ive met Ryan Sipes (CTO) in person, he is a pretty legit guy.
>>53594855
So whole thing isn't a scam?
I gave them 25 burgereuros on kickstarter, mostly just so that I can call other people on 4chan poor for not having spare money to blindly throw at random kickstarter projects.
But yes, based Ryan will bring us robot waifus.

get off /g/
/g/, how do I convince my retarded programmer friend to use ints by default instead of floats? He literally uses floats for everything because he thinks they're perfect, he even uses floats as iterators in loops
example argument that we have every week:
>dude you need to realize using floats for things that will only correctly be whole numbers is a waste of space
>>space doesn't matter! i'd be saving 5% space at most if i switched from floats to appropriately sized ints/shorts for everythingComment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>53593503
Doesn't floats have rounding errors when you divide, multiply, and even add?
If you really want him to see the light, he needs to fuck up first. Give him something that will fuck up if he uses floats.
>>53593503
>open intel optimization book
>show him floats take 5 to 20X the amount of cycles than an integer
If you can write a program he wrote with ints and try to show him its way faster.
If he keeps using floats just unfriend him because hes clinically retarded.

What's the problem /g/? It's definitely my computer, but I don't have the faintest clue as to what it could be.
I've been having this issue for months, can some please help?
I've checked everytime if my iso are corrupted, they were fine. Thus computer isnt old but its not brand new either, if that helps.

If Lee Sedol wins round 5, even though the AI will have won 3-2, I would say Sedol is better. The AI used new metagame, Sedol adapted.
