VB6 and C

Trying to learn raw sockets in C

i made a program to generate random IPs, and try to connect to them on given ports

>How many of you can into socket programming in any language?
Socket programming is quite straightforward although the biggest caveat for beginners is that they don't realize TCP is in fact a streaming protocol.
>Do you have any projects going on?
Multiple.
>What are you making?
Not your business.

yer I know can we just accept that it is slightly better than windows. I was to lazy and it was my first built computer. I am doing an arch install now.

Good meme. Please go. Some like mint better than Ubuntu.
Surely I'm not the only one
I've got an incredible idea for a game I want to make but I can't work up the determination to spend ~400 hours making it primarily because I don't know where to start (and spending 300 of those 400 hours would kill me)
What do you do to combat this
I honestly think the main problem I have is that I don't know how to structure my code so I don't have to rewrite it to add a critical detail but I don't know any way around this
So tell me your feels
Also pic unrelated
Use a game engine retard.
just take your time, small steps.
There's no way around it, you can't learn without making mistakes. So you can either get started and fail or accept that you already have.

Ubuntu has proven itself over many years as the ONLY choice good enough for NASA, TESLA, etc.
Everyone talking shit about Ubuntu is a disinfo shill trying to destroy the growth of mainstream Linux.
if you're going to keep shilling ubuntu with girls can you at least make sure they don't have 0/10 noses?

Has subtitle technology gone too far?
It's called fun, anon.
And while I don't quite appreciate their bloated subtitles, at least they attempt to make something fun and worth watching, unlike most sub groups, who rip crunchyroll subs and call it a day.

Phone history thread, poorfag edition. I finally left Virgin Mobile and their shitty phone offerings for a Nexus 5X on Project Fi.
Make your own here: http://www.phonearena.com/phones/size
I am too old for this comparison site, it does not feature my first 3 phones: Alcatel OT pocket (supposedly first phone with vibration), Siemens S35i and Siemens C60

It almost feels good, but now I have to cleanup that shit.
Just switched from Windows 10 to Ubuntu 15.10. I am still running Windows in a virtual machine, with only Visual Studio in it.
I know very few basics for this OS and I'm willing to learn. What habits should I lose and what do I need to learn in order to be productive, /g/?
Just use it like you did windows.

Use the software center

Seriously you don't need to be shitting up this board with this stupid ass thread.
Just use it like you would windows. Canonical have gone a long way to make it this easy for you, don't insult them.
>>53499916
The big one is installing software from a website.
Just search the repository (synaptic or terminal)#search
apt-cache search pkg
apt-file search pkg
#install
apt-get install
#update system
apt-get update && apt-get upgrade
If you stumble upon some cool command, write it down in your ~/.bashrc
Egalias api='sudo apt-get install'
And then you can call that command with api or get a list...

A lot of people will shit on you for using Ubuntu, but honestly, it's probably the best choice for those that have never used Linux before. It's a good way to get your feet wet and learn the basics. You need to learn to make the command line your friend. At some point, your system might be in a state where you don't have have a fancy GUI to save you.
