I am playing with the idea of making a portable computer.
Nothing fancy just a DIY project so I can do a few little things on the go. So I am looking back for crazy ideas.
Here are some inspiring pictures I thought /g/ would like. Also feel free to add more.

I shot myself in the foot: the post
>Rage at windows updates
>Have enough, start downloading distros
>Try 9 distros, Ubuntu appears to work the best
>Reformat entire drive to force me to give Linux a fair shot
>Mouse is tiny in 4k, Google and solve that issue
>Team speak won't install, Google and figure out how .run files work
>Steam won't install, 5 separate errors, spend a whole day...

And the worst is, if you go to any linux community and ask how to fix X thing you will get shit and be called stupid multiple times.
If you go to a windows community and ask how to fix X you just get your answer.

What happened to the philosophy behind XP? A Windows OS that the expert user can conform to their own tastes while at the same time being able to use the vanilla variant that is user-friendly to anyone.

It's confirmed, Vega is indeed a new or slighly tweaked architecture and not just big Polaris.
AMD has also confirmed a Vega 11 to replace Polaris 11.
Order of succession (according to cost and diesize)
Fiji -> Vega 10
Hawaii -> Polaris 10 -> Navi(2018)
Trinidad -> Polaris 11 -> Vega 11
Tonga stays where it is for now or Vega 11 might actually be a Tonga replacement according to diesize, not confirmed since no point of comparison.
Polaris 10 and 11 are confirmed for a June launch.

Also the 'big' dies won't probably go over 450mm^2 at all since FinFETs are quite young to both TSMC and AMD.
But whoever manages to make a bigger diesize that gen wins it.
Polaris 11 has been confirmed around 120mm^2 already a few months ago.
Polaris 10 will probably be around 240-290mm^2
Vega 10 as mentioned will be around 400mm^2+

Does this mean I should just go with either the gtx 970 or r9 390 now for ~$330 in preparation for VR? Amd doesn't look like it will be targeting that market in the coming months.
It's also hard to determine if liquidvr is better than what nvidia is offering without any benchmarks. :(
What do?
>Sony VR only costs 400 bucks
>more VR games for sure
>better VR games for sure too, because there is only 1 hardware to adapt for
>better experience, because it runs perfectly fine

Confirmed
You pay thousands of bucks to get some shitty optmized VR games.

Yeah, no...
Sitting in a chair, wiggling around some controllers is not a good experience.

You clearly have not tried VR if you think seated experiences are comparable to roomscale on the Vive.
I can't believe Samsung is stumping Apple on phone design, the S7 is so beautiful, and this is.... just.... is Apple dead?
Oh wow it looks just like the last one
What a stunning surprise

daily reminder that 3.5mm jacks WERE the reason phones are so thick and that this dude on /g/ was right about it 3 years ago
>>53517754
I don't understand. Why are you using a render as proof that the iphone 7 doesn't have the 3.5mm jack?
great now apple can sell you their proprietary headphones that only work with their products.
Also daily reminder that apple will do the stupidest stuff to make their phones thin. No one asked for this but you know what people are asking for? a battery that last more than 4 hours
>>53517782
it's a render based on an actual physical model that leaked
the new iphone will not have a headphone jack

Jesus christ, my friend brought me an international SKX007 from japan with the jubilee bracelet, is it really supposed to be this bad?
It rattles like all fuck and feels really cheap, but not only that, the bezel rattles like hell and is kind of misaligned. Luckily I only paid 150$ for it so it's not too bad after I put it on a nato.
The SKX007 that I sold was definitely of a better caliber (also malaysian) no alignment issues and the bezel didn't rattle at all.
