Dell do pretty good gaming PCs
>>53650532

I get the R9 390 and it is not working with my VGA 22 monitor, i tried a dvi-d to vga adaptor but it not work the card is works only with hdmi but i my monitor dont have hdmi only 2 VGA analog inputs, what do ? active dvi-d to vga converter??
>>53650445
What about a new monitor?
you need a converter. If the cable is just like VGA on one side HDMI on the other it's not going to work since one is an analog signal (VGA) the other is digital (HDMI) you need something to convert it. They sell them on amazon, or you can just get a new monitor.

>I get the R9 390 and it is not working
Oh an AMD card isn't working. Colour me surprised.

I had a honeymoon with PC-BSD somewhen in the last couple of years in a workstation. Is there anything truly groundbreaking and awesome coming up for 11.0 that may make me consider repeating it?
Is paying $1,000 for a phone stupid if I'll be using it for the next few years?
It's an iPhone, so yes.

Why the fuck are you guys using an OS built on top of a mainframe kernel from the early 90s on your desktop computer in 2016?

Why the fuck is the world's most successful -most widely used, most *time* spent with it- personal operating system running on it?

Your list is only 3 decent reasons.
As for the rest, one's a botnet browser, three are anti-virus anti-malware bullshit you don't even need, the last two have better alternatives
Anytime this is brought up though suddenly every windows user is a graphical designer or music producer.
How do we fix Arch?
It's simple: we kill the Stallman.

Opinions on windows tablets?
How does it compare to Android and iPads in performance/usability?
Just found out about this and looks pretty good

>>53645959
Windows tablets aren't meant to be tablets, they are meant to be very light and portable notebooks.
If you have decent specs, good. Otherwise just no. I have a XE300TZC and I can tell you this is the biggest piece of trash
Like even my really old acer aspire one A110L is better, since you can at least put a tiny linux distro on it and do things fast.

So what does /g/ think of coreboot?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKdLhbmjrDI
>>53643906
That's fast!!!
>>53643906
It is a nice project, very important, my notebook runs Libreboot (with is basically a distribution of coreboot).
Prefer hardware that runs on Libreboot as that project runs blob free (that's really the only appeal of an alternate bios for me). The faster boot time is nice but I don't consider it a feature I care much about
