Why ar e Arch users such degenerates? They actually brag about using an operating system less stable than wangblows. They really give Linux users a bad name.

Hey /g/, I'm pretty sure I saw a spotify like music streaming service that was free to use (pretty sure it was not as legal, it was using torrents or some shit). Anyways, it was in alpha stage when I saw it being mentioned here, so I was wondering how is the project doing now and what was it called (I forgot the name)? I think it was something like Apollo or some shit.
Anyhow, thanks.

Why do some of you try so hard to distance yourself from """normie""" things?
Why do you act like running linux and embracing the FOSS philosophy makes you better than those who do not do either of those things?
Do you _really_ think linux/tech and a social life are mutually exclusive?
>>53660920
>"""normie"""
Average is boring and ok at best. Besides, you're sampling a website largely comprised of autists and loners. Of course our opinions are going to differ from yours, my Facebook friend.
I don't use GNU/Linux or embrace FLOSS to distance myself from, as you say, 'normie' things. I utilise GNU/Linux as it has a wide variety of tools that improve ones' life as a developer. I prefer FLOSS software as I believe proprietary technology slows down progress, and that software that can be audited by anyone who uses it is more reliable and trustworthy. Why would you trust a program that is closed-source, and why would you want to use a piece of software you can't fix/improve yourself if necessary?
>>53660973
>Of course our opinions are going to differ from yours,
how so? Just because I don't wear my OS as a badge of superiority? I run some linux distro or another on all my machines btw

nice unwarranted assumptions, I don't have a facebook.

Women do have something special they have the ability to multitask better but suck at any and all things with single instances compared to men.
they are the AMD processors of the sexes while men are Intel processors.
Do you think it's really worth $600?
Yes.
In fact I preordered one even though it is ~$900 in my country

Does anyone still use Windows 95/98 here?
No I don't. They were pretty horrible to use for the most part and had all sorts of weird problems like not shutting down properly, or randomly crashing for no reason. I upgraded to Windows 2000 in about 2004 and never looked back.
>>53659646
I haven't seen anything below Win XP and Server 2003 lately. Some client at work had a ton of XP instances running firefox for whatever reason, probably some blackhat SEO bullshit or something. XP because low mem

How can you use an unsupported OS? Where do you download updates? Also, is there any x64 support for Windows 2000?
/g/, please save me
my car was recently totaled and with the settlement i bought a 2000 nissan maxima, limited edition se. it doesn't have an auxiliary port, and my ipod is an old 120gb ipod classic so auxiliary is really the only way i can use it.
what is the best method for playing my ipod through the speakers of this car? are fm transmitters actually any good? i've heard the sound quality can be garbage, is there a specific model i can get that will insure good sound quality? or should i be looking into some kind of involved hard-wiring?

Fun fact, a percentage of ants, roughly 12%, are lazy and don't work hard. If you kill the lazy ants, others will stop working so hard to maintain the 12%. So while ants work hard as fuck, there's always a percentage of them holding back.

Why are AMD cards so shit on Linux? I have a water cooled 290X that I use to run at 1200/1400 on Windows 7 and now I can't even fucking play counter strike without stuttering and performance issues.
I tried using fglrx and radeonsi, they're both shit but the latter is the only bearable desktop experience. Do NVIDIA users get this shit too? I'm waiting for the Pascal chips to drop, perhaps they'll give me a functional computer.
>>53658555
AMD is shit on linux.
Which is disappointing considering they're several orders of magnitude more receptive to open source than Nvidia.
Dual boot or passthrough to get decent performance.
>>53658555
Better drivers common soon, remember AMD is contributing to the open source drivers now
Shit drivers. Also, AMD does not work at all in FreeBSD. Nvidia is the way to go in these cases.
OK /g/, I want to get a 980ti but I'm a broke college student practically living paycheck.
I plan on only using money from doing odd shit like giving blood and stuff like that.
Which 980ti should I get and what weird or odd jobs should I do to earn money for it?

You have a bad attitude. There's your first problem. Start being more pragmatic, and you'll stop being poor.
>I'm a poor college student
>WAHHHHH I WANT A $600 GPU AND MOM SAID NO.
>WAHHHH
You're what's wrong with this planet.
You're a college student, you have other priorities, and clearly such a little amount of money to where you must even consider selling your own blood.
Focus on your studies, focus on actually having money to eat. Not spending it on something you will hardly ever have time to use.
