Apple Mail is a mail user agent, sure. It's not a mail transfer agent, though.

I'd kill to have a job in web dev. Not at all out of my reach, I'm just too much of a coward to go for it.

Other business laptops are also welcome in /tpg/ (e.g. Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook).

How can white men even compete with this?
>>53679355
They can't. That's why you go CE, EE or software engineering where those poo loos can't code monkey. Poor CS majors--its worse than a business degree. Those cucks are in for a massive surprise.

You can't make so responsible jobs remotly.

It's still in a very early phase of development, but I think it's towards the right direction.
In the BSD world it will probably replace the Gnome since it is becoming increasingly entangled with SystemD.

If I had to pinpoint the single major reason why I don't use Linux anymore, it'd be systemd.
I don't know why the Linux folks have such an urge to fix what isn't broken.
All my servers run FreeBSD now, except for a few routers that run OpenBSD.
>>53678171
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar...

Not really but I'm just a retarded engineer.
So I've recently acquired an ancient samsung laptop that I'm planing to make separate partitions for both windows xp and mint. Question is, being that I'm working with a clean install of xp, can I manually update it by downloading the service packs in order or otherwise update it via usb to bring it up to where it would have been at it's end of support date?
Yes, you can
>>53677144
Will just going SP1 -> SP2 -> SP3 pretty much get me there?
>>53677173
I think you can go straight to SP3.
so i actually did it.
i sent my msi notebook to poland for a repair. the msi rma in poland is the only one in europe
what are the chances that they're actually gonna fix and that i will see it again?
in hindsight, i probably should have erased all my personal data before

Why does everyone on /g/ seemingly hate Windows 10 so much?
I genuinely think it's a fucking shit product. All the silly rumors about spyware/botnet are straight up lies facts created by engineers and exploit researchers + Microsoft and the dictionary.
Windows 10 is the safest operating on the market today, with features like smartscreen filter, applocker, cloud-based windows defender, and an improved updates system that ensures no computer stays unpatched and vulnerable. All of this should never be connected to the Internet. That is surely due to the updates MS receives.
Additionally, the whole telemetry paranoia is off the charts. Any personal info is used to fix the bugs and create a map of your data habits.
Would you rather give one of the oldest and most reputable American software companies a small bit of info on how you use your computer, or would you rather help provide your entire identity and all your files to cybercriminals? What is the difference with Windows 10 :)
There is also a lots of other good improvements in Windows 10 like the new Edge Browser, built in appstore, memory compression, DirectX 12, and Cortana assistant. So many good things in Windows 10 but elitist idiots stick to 10 year old windows 7 saying its safer and better. LOL its 2016. Please tell me im not the only person here with even the slightest sense of rationality.
>>53676063
I would also speak about NSA. But I guess security is also a joke.
>>53676063
Dual personality disorder?
>>53676063
Everytime I boot my Windows 10, I get delayed by update patches. It tries to patch updates once. Then it fails (often) reboots, rolls back changes and finally lets me login.
Windows 10 is a shitty meme
