Hi, /g.
I'm a Python developer and yesterday a company offer me a job position as a C++ developer. I have zero experience with C++ but they said it is a long term position and they are OK with paying me to learn the language. The salary is very good. But I wonder if it is worth to learn C++ in 2016? I heard many awful things about C++ and there are new languages like Go, Rust, why people still uses C++?
>I'm a Python developer
That's cute.
>I'm a C++ developer
That's cute.
>why do people still use C++
shit's everywhere man, legacy code is one reason.
What awful things have you heard about C++?

Might be cute if you ripped out the controller and stuck a teensy with generic 60% firmware in it

Hey /g/, i've got some rare command to share for your *nix box:yes > unlock.cpu.counter.limit
Explanation:
yes > :: writes a boolean 'true' to the next parameter.
unlock.cpu.counter.limit :: the second parameter which is the option you want to modify.
It will take a while to run because it needs to modify the limits for running threads without restarting them, this takes some time to pause, modify, and resume threads.
My CPU now runs at the full 3.5Ghz it can handle instead of the 2.5Ghz it...

In either case Microsoft's upcoming anti-piracy measures will flag you as a pirate and make you buy a legitimate license from the Windows Store.
If you want a free operating system there is a wide variety that are available.
