How do you guys get inspiration to work on projects? It feels like everything's been done, everything's been made, and there's nothing left to do but impress your parents.
tl;dr reason to keep coding go
cuz ur mom sucks my dick under the desk everytime i work faget
>>53720996
wow. that's unbelievably rude, man
Probably because you're a little babby
Isn't hacking basically understanding an aspect of computing, and then 'abusing' it?
>>53720944
In June 2000, while visiting Korea, I did a fun hack that clearly illustrates the original and true meaning of the word "hacker".
I went to lunch with some GNU fans, and was sitting down to eat some tteokpaekki, when a waitress set down six chopsticks right in front of me. It occurred to me that perhaps these were meant for three people, but it was more amusing to imagine that I was supposed to use all six. I did not know any way to do that, so I realized that if I could come up with a way, it would...

It's just using software in a way it wasn't intended.

Incredible, thanks for sharing. Mind if I save this story so that I can come back to it later?
I got pretty gud at some things with help from 4chan. Somehow I realised that what helped me most was the elitism and getting called a faggot for every tiny mistake I made. I wanted to fit in the perfectionist neckbeard crowd and getting called a faggot hurt, so I was learning really fast. Now I want to learn how to program. I'll very likely start with C and work my way through K&R. Is there a place on Internet besides 4chan where I can post my code and get "roasted" for all mistakes? /g/ doesn't seem to have that much programming threads besides /dpt/.
Sounds like a good idea OP, I'd suggest using your shit code to ruse some neckbeardian assembly forum or whatever
>>53720891
C is shit as a first programming language. Or maybe not, if you survive it, even Java will feel like heaven..
Why not taking something easy like Python instead?
>>53721224
I did some things in Java and python before, but I want to really get into it and learn more than just copy/paste code. Python indentation annoyed me as hell, but I probably should have used a real IDE.
What language would you recommend?
I should note that I already know the basics, variables, loops, functions etc.

I hear contributing to Linux kernel when you don't know what are you doing will get your ass chewed so I better join the mail list, eh?

If you didn't learn basic mathematical optimization in your CS degree, was it a code monkey degree?
I watched the Revision 2016 showdowns.

>If you didn't learn basic mathematical optimization in your CS degree, was it a code monkey degree?
it's because I learned advanced mathematical optimization fucking loser :^)
>>53720546
Not necessarily, optimization is a fairly likely "school specialization" for a legitimate CS degree, but other legitimate programs might have other specializations.
Which screen recording software?
There are so many.
OBS
OBS, fuck off now
Why do these tech boards cost a fortune? I would kill of one of these sweet rides. It's lighter than a bike and requires minimal muscle.
Build your own, it's cheaper, more fun.

why not just wear a sign saying you're an autistic NEET manchild desu?
>boosted
I assume you mean it has an electric motor.
>cost a fortune
because stupid people pay as much as you tell them to, and a disproportionately large number of skaters are stupid.
>>>/diy/ has made quite a few electric skateboards, scooters, and whatnot.
There's a number of complications here though: The batteries never last all that long, and you need to be careful as to what kind you're using. LiFePo is used in Chinese ``hoverboards"...

Is Gentoo with Unity the quintessence of the absolute dualism?

Any one with experiences with MatLab?
Because mathworks.com is a desert and a looks like the admin are a bunch of sissies, somebody has or at least tried the kkt (karush-kuhn-trucker) algorithm for optimize in matlab? Would be very thankful with your answers.
>>53720251
If you are a bit of good in Python or at least have some knowledge on it see:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/20749079/karush-kuhn-tucker-kkt-conditions-and-scipy
I fucking hate Matlab. Such an ugly language.

What's your chair, /g/? Post em. Recommendations welcome.
does anyone else's chair have a slight smell of piss?
I like it, the orange parts are panels which stick out.

How did I do, /g/?
(Dell Inspiron i7559-763BLK)
I also ordered an extra 8gb stick of RAM and a sata3 -> m.2 adapter for the 2nd drive bay.
Pretty well, i got that laptop to op. The only cons i would say for it is that it is a fingerprint magent and the ips display is best on average. Other than that it works very well and you only need to remove one screw to upgrade it

What will happen /g/, when Stallman is on his dying bed hooked up to proprietary hardware and software will it be the end for the fight for freedom as we know it? There's no better icon for the Open source community than RMS, will it die with him?
