whats the situation with privacy? How about photoDNA?
>>53733057
>whats the situation with privacy?
It's pretty bad famalam, but you can stop most of it whilst installing.
>How about photoDNA?
It only works for their default Photos App, if you use the default Photo Viewer or some 3rd party it doesn't apply to them.
>>53733057
>upgrading to windows 10
It is a downgrade both aesthetically and functionally, why even bother.

people are going to start upgrading to it. i should know how it works
What can you do when encryption isn't enough?
Say you are in a situation in which you may be forced to hand over encryption keys, and there's a significant chance you might have your (encrypted) phone seized. What can you do? The only two options I can think of are:
>To have a setup where it can be remotely wiped in the small window when you know it is going to be taken, but before it actually is, but this would require the phone to be on, and someone or some automated process to give the command to wipe.

If you know you're in such a situation, don't have an encrypted phone on you...
Otherwise, store encryption keys on a volatile medium that can easily be destroyed quickly and discretely
>>53733192
>If you know you're in such a situation, don't have an encrypted phone on you...
I agree, and this probably covers most situations. I guess it's more useful if you think it's likely to happen, but you don't know when.
Easily destroyed keys are a great idea, any idea what would be for something easily discretely destroyed?

>As the physiological effect of low-frequency stimulation has only been explored in cursory fashion, it needs to be studied further through research and clinical tests. Left to itself this would take a long time, since the matter is controversial and the physiological dynamics is influenced by obscure factors such as conditioning, sensitization, habituation and the placebo effect, as well as by the initial state of the endocrine- and autonomic nervous system.

Come and watch.
So I upgraded my rig about a year ago, and my system has been convinced ever since, that my copy of Windows is not legit.
It's quite frustrating, and opens a warning window every 20 minutes or so, to let me know.
How can I get rid of this problem?
>>53732492
Install Gentoo.
Did you install a beta version or something
>Upgraded my rig.
By any chance, did you replace the Motherboard? Because this is more or less how Windows identifies a particular PC.
When you activate Windows, it is activate to a particular PC with a particular ID. The ID for your PC is on your motherboard. When you change the motherboard, you effectively change to a different PC. So Windows thinks you're using a different PC.
If you've got a legit copy of Windows, you should be able to reactivate, at worst you may need to call Microsoft and do the song and...

upgraded aeron and embody are both top tier.
steelcase leap is very comfy if you're not a sweaty bastard or are in a sufficiently A/C'd room.
In general, HM and Steelcase are pretty much impossible to go wrong with if you have the cash.
I'm a strong believer in splurging for seating, input devices, and displays, since good ones can easily last you ten years.

gentlemen,
what's the most logical (and thus the only rational) naming scheme for your files?
e.g.
YYYYMMDD_[related to]_[filename].[extension]
20160328_work_goodshit.docx
I do this shit with documents
>vague description of what's it about (ex. Louis XVI)
>put in a folder vaguely describing the category (History)
>sort by date
Filename.Extension because every computer since fucking Windows 95 has date stamps in the metadata you cuck
\My Documents\Documents\Documents\paul\Documents\2016\Q1 figures\Jan\Q1 reports.xls

Wouldn't it be better to place the TV on the trolley? I was told TVs heat up when on for several hours so they need cooling from the rear.
Moving house soon, and I'm halfway considering getting an Emby/NAS/Chromecast setup going.
Any starter suggestions? To be honest power draw's one of my main priorities - I don't want anything humongous draining my power bill, but I'd rather not have to get up and power-on something if it'll wake from sleep as needed.

refurbed Nexus 5 on Amazon $160
Bought a Galaxy S7 yesterday, gave my iPhone 6S to my mother. Appreciate the simplicity of iPhones but just got fed up with how locked down they are. Last Android phone was a GS2 that got water damaged and since then I've been all iOS.
Absolutely loving the S7. Touchwiz is still a piece of shit, but Nova Prime has taken care of most of my problems.
The camera is incredible, if I went outside or had friends I'd have such cool pictures. Fast charging is great too, gonna look into a wireless charger when I get paid.
Turned off the AOD this morning...

Is it worth getting the 11" MacBook Air, or should I wait for the Retina version? I can't find a laptop of this size/specs for the price.
>inb4 install Thinkpad/Gentoo/Gahnoo
>inb4 muh freedoms
>inb4 1366x768
If there's going to be a Retina version, consider your eyes.
I'd honestly always spend a little bit extra for something where I can read shit without issues. I still have nightmares with 1680x1050 on 23''.
That said if you can't afford it, get that. Though it depends on usage, if you really just want a facebook machine everything is cheaper.
It's probably gonna be refreshed and be what the new Macbook is now. So you might see a price increase. In that case then I would wait and see what happens and buy the model before the redesign if price increases happen.
