Zen won't flop. That's the thing. Jim Keller designed the freaking thing. If Zen flops, it will be the first time, in Keller's entire career, that a product of his under-delivers. From DEC to Broadcom, to Apple to AMD to Tesla. He's left a trail of successes which have pushed the industry, as a whole, forward.
Intel QPI, PCIe.
AMD Hypertransport
All derived from his work at DEC on the Alpha.
AMD x86-64
AMD K7/K8
Apple A4/5
Are also his work.
I'd be more surprised if it flopped than I would be if it succeeded.
>>53732774
Did he work on PRISM?
>>53732774
his architecture might be great but there's a lot of other shit that can go wrong.
I'd love for zen to be good but as long as I don't see any results, I don't form an opinion on it.

DDR4(and 3) IS VULNERABLE
EVERYONE IS DOOMED
http://arstechnica.com/security/2016/03/once-thought-safe-ddr4-memory-shown-to-be-vulnerable-to-rowhammer/
"Physical weaknesses in memory chips that make computers and servers susceptible to hack attacks dubbed "Rowhammer" are more exploitable than previously thought and extend to DDR4 modules, not just DDR3, according to a recently published research paper."

Wow, an exploit that is literally irrelevant.

I realize the question I'm about to ask might ensue a series of shitposting.
However, what web development framework does /g/ recommend? ; any languages apply.
Contrary to popular belief, telling someone that the framework they use is worse then the one you use will in fact win you some internet points.
Pic unrelated to topic by the way.
node.js and react :^)
I use bootstrap exclusively. all 3 of my clients are happy with the results.

What a horrible distro.

here's your (You)
>>53742577
I just got my computer to recover from the damage that Arch did to it. What a shitty and broken distro. This is in no way an acceptable choice.
I can definitely see why they're angry, but not why they continue to use that disgustingly terribly made pile of shit.

Found this gfx card laying around. But I can't find what model is it. Anyone here know? Also is or better than a Radeon r9 380?
8800 GS
>>53742422
8800gt i think had the same
It's superior to the 380.
Stick one of those overclockers on it and you're good to go.
Need to buy a beard trimmer, have no idea where to start. Post your beard trimmers here /g/uys. Pic related.
You want us to recommend you a good razor for your pubic hair around your vagina too?

Sorry for assuming /g/ could grow decent facial hair enough to use a beard trimmer.

What's the point of having such large density settings when phone resolutions are as large as they are now? Even with a fairly small setting like this I can still see everything perfectly.
You can fit so much on a 1080p+ screen, yet every phone OS has shit all blown up so its useless. Do people really care about muh sharpness that much?
You don't see the difference, but you feel it.
Also, they are trying to sell something you don't have on previous versions. Muh S8 has 8x more pickles than the S7, so buy it for the VR experience.
As phones become too good to need upgrades, they try to sell us gimmicks.
It's a touch interface. You need to be able to click individual buttons with ease. You also need the content large enough that there's enough contrast to read when you're outside.
It's at a higher resolution but scaled up to the same physical size so it doesn't look like windows xp when you hold it up to your stupid face.
Why is tech support in general so fucking awful?
>need to replace a product with NETGEAR
>never wanted that shit, but was desperate for a wifi adapter
>click livechat link but just redirects me to the customer support page
>call first time and a "free vacation" survey plays
>call subsequent times and get "call can't be reached from this area"

Does this make sense for determining how "square" a photo is?ratio = min(pic.width, pic.height) / max(pic.width, pic.height)
if ratio > min_squareness: print("squarish")
pls
>>53741108
Not enough info
A square will have a ratio of 1 right? The way you have it, your ratio will always be less than or equal to one. So I don't think your way will ever print your message.
What you need to do is get a ratio and check to see how far away from 1 it is. The closer to one, the more square it is.
Hi guys.
When I render a project, if it takes more than 20 minutes, my computer shuts down, for no reason, not even BSOD, just shuts down like if it was an overheat, which is not.
It never happened until "one day" and kept doing it since then, but this time, it shut down again, and now I cannot open some .veg files. The one I was working on freezes at 25%, and I really don't know what to do.
For the shuttind down problem, I've tried to "remove one cpu core from the task", but still shut down by itself.
Please, help me,...

What is the SMART status of your hard drive? You could also try de-fragmenting the drive to see if it shuts down there too.
>>53741028
Thanks for that advice, I'll try this now.
If you are using an outdated "aquired" version of vegas, I would suggest upgrading to the latest version. I went from 9 to 13 and holy balls. Sooooo much better for utilizing my 16GB and 64 bit architecture. Prerender is sooo smooth without crashing
