What can I do to make Windows 10 more bearable?

What, exactly, don't you like about it?
>inb4 purely aesthetic things
Upgrade to Windows 7
If we banned encryption then wouldn't we be safe from cryptolocker?
>>53752721
No, it just means that you would be guilty of a crime if a cryptolocker ran on your machine.
>>53752751
this
the software comes from india and shit, which according to some military law, is already technically illegal thanks to some bullshit "encryption importation" shit.
and just like with gun laws, the criminals will still disobey them.
>>53752721
Yes, the same way that banning guns will disarm criminals.
Which variant of C should I progress to next after I've learned C? C++? C#?
>>53752702
They are all inferior to Go desu.
It depends on what you intend to do with your newly learned language and future languages.
I learned C# first but most of my job was made easier by Python. Do with a language you will use, not a resume builder.
>>53752702
>C#
>C variant
>Installed Visual Studio Community 2015 (the suposed free version, not the trial)
>Used it for a month

Thanks Microsoft!
You have to register it and it won't expire.

Do you keep SELinux enabled on your servers? What about your desktop/laptop?
yes
>SELinux enabled on your servers?
Who wouldn't? Even if it's a security system created by a government agency which could have rigged it for a way to break it that's kept secret by them, it's still better than a complete lack of such a security system which hackers other than the absolute most experienced would find a way to break through.
However, disabling SELinux on some desktops is reasonable because there are many cases for which it's inconvenient and getting in the way of many things when there's no...

AMD HAS NO DRIVERS
>>53751791
yeah, no drivers for 10+ year old CPUs
32 bit is deprecated and if you're still using it your PC is probably from 2004.
It's over, Prescott is finished

Calling all i5 2500k /g/ro's
My mobo shit itself last night and was wondering where I could get my hands on a good new replacement that oc's
>Inb4 upgrade
I'd rather keep the i5 since I got a good one and kept it @ 5.0 oc for years
Also i5 2500k appreciation thread
Why are you shilling a borderline ancient CPU like it's the best thing since sliced bread?
Yeah, it was pretty good when it came out. A nice budget CPU. It isn't lightning in a bottle.
>>53751573
>shilling
Learn your buzzwords, I didn't shill anything.
Also the difference between Sandy and memelake isnt worth the upgrade cost
Still have a 2500k myself, but I'm giving in and getting a 6700k after the price gouging stops. Sorry m8
Okay /g/ i need to get into my laptop BIOS settings. I've forgotten my damn password and i am not sure how to get back in. I'd rather not fomat my computer. Is there another way to get in? I'm running win8 and i have access to the actual computer. I just need to get into the BIOS settings.
usually you can remove the cmos battery and reset your bios, but i dont know if you can do this on your laptop. otherwise you have to solder a new bios chip on it, i guess.
>>53751274
Turn off the power.
Open the laptop up.
Find and remove the cmos battery or find the BIOS reset jumper. (look in your laptop instructions.
If that fails you can always try backdoor bios passwords but that's not really the best way to go about it.
>>53751324
I cannot do this on my laptop. Do you know anyway backdoor ways/software. Why isnt it the best way?
Worth it?

Yah man, the monitors would be 300 as long as they work properly. I'd say jump on that shit!
>>53751279
>those monitors
>$300
not even fucking close.
The 17 and 19 inch are worthless.
The 22" you could probably flip for 15 bucks.
300 dollars for the lot is not a steal, but its not a bad deal if you need most of the stuff.
>>53751257
I don't see a single thing worth salvaging in that shitheap that you couldn't buy in better condition elsewhere without all the useless shit that comes with it.
So you want to make your mama proud and become a web developer? Here's a bunch of tips on how to make it in the industry:
Server-side:
> have no fucking clue how HTTP works. it's only *the* protocol of the web, so it's probably not that important.
> know absolutely nothing about low-level programming.
> know close to absolutely nothing about programming in general.
> rely solely on frameworks written in meme languages built of layers upon layers upon layers of abstraction. if generating a "hello world" response requires less than 15MB or takes less than 600ms, you need more layers; switch to this week's hip framework for code artisans.
> have no clue how to design a properly normalized relational database or how to query it. rely on your framework's ORM, pretending business objects map to database tables 1:1. if they don't, denormalize even more.
> actually, fuck relational databases. they've been around for 40+ years which is probably a bad thing. jump on the NoSQL/MongoloidDB meme bandwagon.
> your site shouldn't be able to handle more than 10 parallel requests without Amazon AWS and Cloudflare. to compromise your users' privacy even further, don't forget to throw in Google Analytics.
> when in doubt, copy-paste from StackOverflow without understanding.
Client-side:
> use a CSS framework. be sure to make clients download all 2500 CSS rules, even if you only use 5.
> HTML is worthless without JavaScript.
> JavaScript is worthless without jQuery.
> never write a single line of JavaScript if there's a 500KB plugin for it. don't review the code, just include it.
> never have less than 8MB of scripts per page in total. make sure they block rendering.
> when in doubt, copy-paste from StackOverflow without understanding.

Does anyone think the FBI for real cracked AES encryption? I want to hear some hypotheses on how it was done from people who might understand what they're talking about. Deep learning? Quantum computing?
>>53750740
No.
They know this would've gone to the supreme court and they would've lost the fight entirely and been even more restricted in what they could do.
Guarantee they're either going to come out and say they didn't find anything on the phone or it's never going to be brought up again in the media.
What are you on about?
Experts kept on saying they already have ways to break it and now they did it. What's the surprise there?
And where does it say they broke AES?
They broke/bypassed a single implementation of it, nothing more.
>>53750740
How about just soldering off the flash memory, backing it up and then just trying 10^4 or 10^6 passcodes?

Is it possible to have some encrypted file container with an exact arrangement of bits that going through a specific decryption algorithm decrypts into the exact same encrypted file container?
Yeah. It's called XOR with 0x00.
>>53755232
Something with data in it.
>>53755257
Step 1: Have data
Step 2: XOR encrypt with key 0x00
Step 3: XOR decrypt with key 0x00
Step 4: itsthesame.jpg
Step 5: Don't be a moron
