are the best mobile SoCs really almost half as powerful as desktop intel CPUs?
>>53842469
They also use 10x less power. Diminishing returns.
>>53842469
It's closer to around a third. See, the core i7 has about 214218 performances, but the Note 5 only has 83944 performances, which is about 39% as many performances.

So I installed TouchPal and found this awesome keyboard, but it's only a 5 day trial. So I had a decent idea to patch the keyboard file. Only I don't know how to do this. I found the keyboard file but instead of (example) being [filename.inf] it's [filename] and text editor makes it come out as jumbled garbage. Can someone push me in the right direction, this'll be the first time I patch something and the internet isn't very useful. Screenshot is the keyboard, I can post the actual file for anyone to take a few stabs as to how to open it.

Any help with my nexus 5? It had shut itself off during the night and wouldn't go past the flying dots animation of boot - it always froze and shut off.
I have tried:
>Recovery mode: Clear cache partition (failed to mount /cache (invalid argument))
>Unlock bootloader, flash twrp recovery to see if any data could be saved: nope, all gone with the unlock wipe
>Try normal factory reset with twrp (fails to mount every partition and storage)
>Try...

Who DNSSEC[1][2] here? Why do you use it? What do you use it for? Have you considered TLSA (DANE[3]), SSHFP[4], OPENPGPKEY[5] RRs yet? Discuss.
Perhaps you also use DNSCrypt[6] for encryption of your queries? Or maybe you like to encrypt everything and you're running DNSCurve[7]?
Newbies section:
>If you're thinking about registering your own domain, check if they offer DNSSEC. Some registrars automatically sign your zone, which means you most likely can already add your TLSA RRs and such. Other registrars offer to upload...

Dnscrypt proxy here, at least I was until it started fucking about on xubuntu
Tried the autoinstall script but that is a plain fail
Shit needs some proper package maintainers

>If Mallory has access to the parent's key, it easily could. You need some level of access to the parent's key to be able to register domains at all. A system can't work if you cannot use it.
But Mallory wouldn't, unless you don't trust the parent TLD.

The fuck are you talking about?
Ph II often has better single threaded performance, and considering the cheaper cost and even the older process node of most Ph II's during the transition, hell yeah it was the 'better' Arch.
You've also cherry picked 5 benchmarks. It really depends on what you're actually doing.

I can't believe I only just discovered that not all usb cords are created equal. A shitty $1 cord from china may only carry 0.5amps, while a quality 28/24awg cable will carry over 2amps. Learned this when my raspberry pi wasn't getting enough power.
I can't be the only one, so I thought I'd educate.
>>53841058
Well not going to pay more than 1$ for a cable anyway, unless it's DELL DisplayPort - that's the only worth cable investment

Just make sure you buy one from a reputable brand. I've bought a 10 feet chink usb a few years ago, shit would charge my ip4s in 6 hours.

OP here. Is there actually any article/thread anywhere describing a case where Ubuntu was proved to be a botnet?
Otherwise it is all a big talk and I have to suspect M$ shilling.
What are some things I can do to clean my Windows 7 installation and stop it feeling sluggish? I make sure any processes at startup are only the ones I actually want, and disable all unnecessary Windows services, but what else can I do because my startup has been taking longer than usual lately.
Pic related.

I'm sick of these fucking Windows lusers coming to this board and thinking they belong. You are not welcome here. I really doubt you can grasp the concept of an operating system, winfag, but there are thousands of them. Windows is the worst one out there. Stop asking us for help, when you're not helping yourself.
